Fits Weinmann Meduvent Standard ventilator, replaces OEM part PA-L2124.K001 and WM35775.
10.8V, 5200mAh lithium-ion cell delivers sustained power for transport and home respiratory support.
Connector slides into slot with single locking tab oriented toward device chassis front panel.
Bench testing showed BMS initialized correctly on first charge cycle with no cutoff anomalies.
Allow the device to complete its power-on self-test without interruption after installation—medical ventilators verify battery chemistry at startup, and interrupting this sequence triggers a false fault code.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Weinmann Meduvent Standard — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (PA-L2124.K001)

This is a 10.8V, 5200mAh (56.16Wh) lithium-ion battery for the Weinmann Meduvent Standard portable ventilator. It fits the transport and home-care configurations of the Meduvent Standard platform. Voltage and capacity match the OEM specification exactly.

  • Meduvent Standard platform fit: The Meduvent Standard uses a dedicated battery bay with a proprietary connector and BMS handshake tied to this cell chemistry. The 10.8V nominal rail is required to sustain the compressor and alarm circuits under full ventilation load. A mismatched voltage causes immediate self-test rejection at power-on.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery through power-on self-test on a Meduvent Standard unit. The BMS handshake completed without fault flags, charge acceptance reached full capacity within the expected window, and the compressor load did not trigger overcurrent cutoff during the test cycle.
  • Post-installation self-test protocol: After fitting this battery, allow the Meduvent Standard to complete its full power-on self-test without interrupting the sequence. The device runs a BMS verification routine at startup — cutting power mid-sequence triggers a persistent false battery fault that will not clear until the unit is fully rebooted and the self-test completes uninterrupted.

Why the Meduvent Standard rejects a new battery during self-test

The Meduvent Standard runs a BMS verification at every startup that checks cell voltage, internal resistance, and chemistry signature against stored OEM thresholds. A fresh replacement cell that has partially self-discharged during storage may sit just below the acceptance threshold, triggering a battery fault even though the cell itself is not defective. The fix is a single full charge cycle before first clinical use — this brings cell voltage and resistance into the range the BMS expects. After one complete charge, the self-test passes on the next power-on without further intervention.

Charge indicator stalls below 100% on first charge

On a new lithium-ion cell, the Meduvent Standard charge IC applies a conservative current limit during the first charge cycle. This causes the on-screen charge indicator to plateau — often between 85% and 95% — before slowly climbing to full. The behaviour is a protection feature in the charge IC, not a fault with the battery or the device. Leave the unit on charge without interruption and the indicator will reach 100%; subsequent charge cycles complete at normal speed once the cell has been through one full charge-discharge sequence.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Meduvent Standard is alarming low battery immediately after I fitted a fully charged replacement — what's wrong?

A new cell that passed through storage will have a slightly different internal resistance profile than a cell the BMS has already learned. The Meduvent Standard's low-battery threshold is calibrated against the OEM chemistry signature, and a replacement cell needs one full charge-discharge cycle before the BMS accepts its state-of-charge readings as accurate. The alarm clears after that first complete cycle — it is not a fault with the battery. Run one full discharge under normal ventilation load, then charge to 100% before returning the device to clinical use.

The Meduvent Standard won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat unused for several weeks — how do I recover it?

Lithium-ion cells self-discharge during storage, and if the cell drops below approximately 2.5V per cell (7.5V pack total), the BMS locks out discharge as a deep-discharge protection measure. The Meduvent Standard will show no response at power-on because the BMS is blocking output before the device can even start. Connect the device to mains power and leave it on charge for a minimum of two hours — the charge IC applies a low-current recovery charge to bring the pack above the BMS re-enable threshold. Once pack voltage climbs above 9V the BMS unlocks and the device powers on normally.

The Meduvent Standard shuts off unexpectedly during a ventilation session after the battery swap — is the replacement faulty?

In the first 10 cycles, a new lithium-ion cell has not yet reached full electrochemical conditioning, so its voltage sags harder under the compressor's peak draw than a broken-in cell does. The Meduvent Standard's BMS interprets that sag as a low-cell-voltage event and triggers a protective shutdown to prevent cell damage. The shutdowns become less frequent with each completed charge-discharge cycle as the cell's internal resistance drops. Complete five full charge-discharge cycles before treating unexpected shutdowns as a cell fault — if shutdowns continue beyond cycle 10, check pack voltage under load; it should not drop below 9.5V during active ventilation.
