Charge indicator stalls below 100% on first charge

The behaviour is a protection feature in the charge IC, not a fault with the battery or the device. Leave the unit on charge without interruption and the indicator will reach 100%; subsequent charge cycles complete at normal speed once the cell has been through one full charge-discharge sequence.
