Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Wiko Y80 / W-V720 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (386768)
This is a 3.85V, 3800mAh Li-Polymer cell for the Wiko Y80 and W-V720 smartphones. It replaces OEM part 386768 when the original battery no longer holds a charge. Dimensions are 86.90 × 66.45 × 3.72mm — confirm fit before installation if the rear housing has been replaced.
- Y80 and W-V720 platform: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, voltage rail, and connector pinout, which is why they use the same 386768 cell. The BMS communicates charge state over the same two-wire interface on each variant.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the Y80 platform. The BMS accepted the new cell without fault codes, and the charge IC reached full termination voltage at 4.35V as expected.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before the charge IC pushes higher current into an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
A new Li-Polymer cell has a steeper voltage cliff than a worn cell at the same state of charge. The phone's fuel gauge IC is still reading from the old discharge curve stored in firmware, so it reports 25% when the cell voltage has already dropped to near the cutoff threshold under modem or screen load. The BMS trips the cutoff to protect the cell — the phone goes dark mid-use. One full discharge-charge cycle at standard rate lets the coulomb counter recalibrate and shifts the reported percentage back into sync with actual cell voltage.
Phone warm near the battery during the first few charge cycles
A fresh Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. During the first few charge cycles, the charge IC pushes current into that higher impedance, and the resulting resistive heating is noticeable through the back cover. This is not a fault — impedance drops after three to five cycles and the warmth goes with it. If the phone stays hot past the fifth full cycle, check that the charge IC is terminating correctly at 4.35V and not entering a continuous top-up loop.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Wiko Y80 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for months — is it dead?
The BMS locks out the cell below approximately 2.5V per cell to prevent damage from deep discharge. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell until voltage climbs above the BMS recovery threshold before the phone will respond. If the charge LED does not appear within 45 minutes, the cell has discharged below recoverable voltage.
Fast charging stopped working after I fitted the 386768 replacement cell — the phone only charges slowly now.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the USB-PD negotiation or proprietary fast-charge handshake can fail because the BMS presents different impedance characteristics than the worn cell the phone was calibrated against. Run one complete standard-rate charge to full, then discharge to under 10%, and charge again — the protocol handshake typically re-establishes on the second cycle. If slow charging persists beyond cycle two, check that the USB-C port contacts are clean and the cable is rated for the phone's fast-charge standard.
The battery percentage jumps erratically — goes from 60% to 35% in minutes, then back up without charging.
This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve. The old curve stored in firmware does not match the 386768 cell, so the IC overestimates remaining capacity at certain voltage points and then corrects sharply when load pulls the voltage down. Run two full discharge-charge cycles at standard rate without interruption — by the end of the second cycle the coulomb counter has enough data to report percentage accurately within a few points.
