Fits Wintec G-Trender, WBT-100, WBT-200, and WBT-201 handheld GPS navigators with OEM battery compatibility.
3.7V 1000mAh Li-ion cell delivers the same energy density as the factory pack for full positioning and mapping runtime.
Connector slides into the vertical battery slot with a friction-fit locking tab — orientation is keyed and cannot be inserted backward.
We bench-tested this cell in a WBT-200 unit; the BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with no fault cycling needed.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before navigation — cold start after power interruption takes 5–10 minutes for first fix versus under a minute for warm starts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Wintec G-Trender / WBT-100 / WBT-200 / WBT-201 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V 1000mAh Li-ion cell for the Wintec G-Trender GPS navigator and the WBT-100, WBT-200, and WBT-201 series. It fits the same battery bay, connector, and BMS interface across all four models. Capacity is rated at 3.7Wh, matching the original cell specification.

  • G-Trender / WBT series compatibility: All four models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. The battery bay dimensions — 52.96 × 33.64 × 5.15mm — are identical across the range, so one cell fits all without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the WBT platform and monitored BMS cutoff behaviour. The protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage threshold and accepted a full charge cycle without fault flags.
  • Cold-start satellite acquisition after swap: After fitting this cell, power the unit on outdoors and let it acquire a satellite fix before heading out. GPS navigation devices run a cold start after any full power interruption — first fix typically takes 5–10 minutes. Subsequent warm starts drop back under a minute once almanac data is restored.

GPS accuracy reduced at low battery on the G-Trender

At low state of charge, some GPS receivers step down receiver sensitivity to reduce current draw and extend operation. On the G-Trender this can appear as wider position scatter or slower track updates before the unit shuts off. It is not a firmware fault — it is the receiver managing power at the cell's lower voltage boundary. Keeping the cell above 3.6V under load maintains full receiver sensitivity.

G-Trender shuts off without warning before the battery indicator reaches empty

The fuel gauge on the G-Trender reads state of charge from a voltage curve calibrated to the original cell. A new or different cell may have a slightly different discharge curve, so the indicator can read one bar and still cut off abruptly. This is a calibration lag in the gauge, not a fault with the cell. Run two or three full charge-discharge cycles and the indicator will recalibrate — cutoff should align closer to the 3.4V low-voltage threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions

My G-Trender lost all my saved routes after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The G-Trender stores some route and POI data in battery-backed RAM. When the cell is fully removed, that memory loses power and resets. Data saved to internal flash or an SD card survives the swap, but anything held only in volatile RAM does not. Before replacing the battery, export your routes to the SD card or to your PC via the accompanying software.

Satellite lock is taking 5–10 minutes after fitting the new battery — was it faster before?

That is a cold start, and it is expected after any full power removal. The GPS almanac and ephemeris data — the satellite position tables the receiver uses to lock quickly — are stored in battery-backed memory. Once that data clears, the receiver has to download fresh almanac data from scratch, which takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky. After the first successful fix, subsequent warm starts drop to under a minute.

My G-Trender drains the new battery much faster when I'm actively navigating than when it's just sitting in my pocket — what's pulling that power?

Active navigation runs the GPS receiver continuously alongside the backlit display, both at high load. In standby or track-logging mode, the display dims or blanks and the receiver duty-cycles down, cutting current draw significantly. Reduce display brightness to the lowest usable level during active navigation and the cell will last noticeably longer between charges.
