Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Wintec BT-N3650 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

The Wintec BT-N3650 is a 3.7V, 1200mAh (4.44Wh) Li-ion cell for smartphones specced to this battery. It measures 53.00 × 33.90 × 5.70mm, so verify your existing cell's dimensions before ordering. Voltage and footprint must match — do not substitute a higher-capacity cell if the chassis does not accommodate the extra thickness.

  • Why the BT-N3650 part number matters: Smartphones using this cell rely on a specific connector pitch and BMS handshake tied to the OEM part. A mismatch in either breaks the charge IC communication loop and the phone may refuse to charge or report incorrect state-of-charge entirely.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled the BT-N3650 through controlled charge and discharge passes. The BMS held cutoff correctly at the low-voltage threshold and accepted CC-CV charging without tripping protection prematurely on the first cycle.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge down to auto-shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This gives the fuel gauge IC a clean reference curve against the new cell before high-current charging is applied to an uncalibrated counter.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

A fresh Li-ion cell has a steeper voltage discharge curve than the worn cell the fuel gauge IC was calibrated to. When the modem fires a high-current burst or the screen hits peak brightness, the cell voltage sags below the protection threshold before the gauge reads zero. The phone shuts off at 25% because the gauge is wrong, not because the cell is defective. One full discharge-charge cycle corrects the coulomb counter and the shutdowns stop.

Phone warm near the battery during the first charge

A new cell arrives with higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. The charge IC pushes current into that higher resistance and the excess energy dissipates as heat. This is normal for the first one or two charge cycles as the cell's internal chemistry stabilises. If the device stays warm beyond the third full charge or exceeds what you can hold comfortably against your hand, remove the battery and check that the connector is fully seated — a partial connection raises resistance further and compounds the heating.

Frequently Asked Questions

My phone powers off at around 25% battery after fitting the BT-N3650 — is the cell faulty?

The cell is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell. The new BT-N3650 has a steeper voltage drop under load — the modem or display pulls current, voltage sags below the shutdown threshold, and the phone cuts out even though the gauge still shows charge remaining. Run one complete discharge to auto-shutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% and the coulomb counter will recalibrate. The shutdowns should stop after that single cycle.

The phone won't power on at all after the BT-N3650 sat in storage — how do I recover it?

If the cell discharged below approximately 2.5V during storage, the BMS has locked out to prevent damage and will not accept a normal charge. Plug into a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell at a reduced rate until voltage climbs above the BMS re-enable threshold, at which point the phone will boot or show a charging indicator. If there is no response after 30 minutes on a wall charger, the cell has deep-discharged past recovery.

Fast charging stopped working after I installed the replacement battery — what's wrong?

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the phone's USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge protocol may not negotiate correctly because the BMS on the new cell has not completed its initial handshake with the charge IC. Start with a standard 5V charge for the first full cycle. After one complete charge to 100%, reconnect the fast charger — the protocol negotiation typically succeeds from the second cycle onward once the BMS has registered a valid charge completion event.
