This is a 3.7V Li-ion cell rated at 1200mAh (4.44Wh), cut to fit the Switel M160 mobile phone. It replaces the original cell when the existing battery no longer holds a usable charge or fails to power the device. This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. The phone reads 25% remaining, but the new cell hits a voltage cliff under modem or screen load and drops below the cutoff threshold instantly. The BMS shuts the phone down to protect the cell — it is not a fault in the replacement battery. One complete discharge cycle from 100% to automatic shutdown, followed by a full charge, forces the coulomb counter to re-anchor to the new cell's actual capacity.

Phone won't power on after the replacement cell sat in storage

If the battery has been stored discharged for several weeks, the cell voltage can drop below 2.5V and trigger BMS lockout. The phone shows nothing on screen and does not respond to the charge cable. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. Once the cell recovers above 3.0V, the BMS exits lockout and the phone will boot normally.
