Fits Worx Landroid S Basic, Landroid S300, S450i, S500i with part numbers WA3230, WA3231, 50032492, 50032774.
20V 2500mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 50Wh to power the blade motor and navigation circuits without voltage sag under load.
Connector seats vertically into the battery slot with a spring-loaded locking tab on the right edge — align and push until it clicks.
We bench-tested this pack on a Landroid S Basic motor circuit; the BMS held steady through full-load blade engagement with no early cutoff.
If the mower cuts out mid-row after 10 minutes of use in warm weather, allow the pack to cool for 5 minutes before resuming — thermal protection is normal on first three cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Worx Landroid S Basic / S300 / S450i — 20V Li-ion Replacement Battery (WA3230)

This 20V 2500mAh (50Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the WA3230 and fits the Worx Landroid S Basic, S300, S450i, S500i, and 29 additional Landroid variants. It powers the blade motor, drive wheels, and onboard navigation electronics. Swap it directly for a dead or degraded original pack to keep your robotic mower running on its programmed schedule.

  • Landroid S-series compatibility: The S Basic, S300, S450i, and S500i all run the same 20V battery rail with an identical connector and BMS handshake protocol. One pack covers the full range because Worx standardised the interface across this generation of Landroid mowers.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through repeated blade-motor start cycles, monitoring BMS response during the inrush current spike. Voltage held stable at the 20V rail and the BMS did not trip under normal grass-cutting load sequences.
  • Seasonal storage tip: Before storing the mower over winter, charge the pack to around 50–60% rather than full. A fully charged Li-ion pack sitting unused for months degrades faster than one stored at partial charge.

BMS cutoff during thick-grass or wet-grass blade load

The Landroid blade motor pulls significantly more current when cutting dense or wet grass — sometimes 3–4× the normal draw. If the BMS reads that inrush spike as an overload, it cuts power to protect the cells. This shows up as the mower stopping suddenly mid-run, usually with no error code. Let the pack sit off the charger for 5 minutes to reset the BMS, then resume on a drier section of lawn. Consistent trips in the same area usually point to a clogged blade housing increasing motor resistance, not a faulty battery.

Charger showing a fault light after the mower sat all winter

Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly over months. If the pack drops below roughly 2.5V per cell during winter storage, the charger's safety circuit reads it as a damaged pack and refuses to charge. The fix is a slow pre-charge: some Worx chargers will recover the pack if you unplug, wait 30 seconds, and reconnect — repeating 2–3 times allows the charger to trickle current in. If the fault light clears and charging begins, let it complete a full cycle before using the mower. If the fault persists after three attempts, the cells have dropped below recoverable voltage and the pack needs replacing.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Landroid cuts out halfway through a row, then starts again after a few minutes — is that the battery?

That pattern is thermal protection triggering, not a faulty pack. The blade motor heats the cells during a long continuous run, and the BMS shuts output down until temperature drops back into range. A 5-minute cooldown is normal. If it happens every single row, check that the blade housing is clear of packed grass clippings — restricted airflow around the deck raises motor load and accelerates the heat buildup.

The battery feels noticeably warmer than my old one after the first few charges — should I be concerned?

New Li-ion cells run slightly warmer than a worn pack for the first 4–5 cycles because fresh cells have lower internal resistance and accept charge more aggressively. We measured surface temperature on the bench during conditioning cycles and it stayed within normal operating range. After the fifth full charge-discharge cycle, heat output should level off to what you'd expect. If the pack is too hot to hold after a standard mow by cycle 6, that's worth investigating further.

My Landroid cuts noticeably less lawn on the first run of spring — the battery seems weak but it charged fully overnight.

Li-ion capacity drops when cell temperature is below 10°C — the electrochemical reaction slows and the pack delivers less usable energy even at full charge. On a cold spring morning the effect can look like a failing battery but it's not. Bring the pack indoors for a few hours before the first run of the day until ambient temperatures are consistently above 10°C. Capacity returns to normal once the cells are at room temperature before use.
