Fits Xact Communication Wristlinx x3x, x2x, x33xif-2, and x33xif series wrist radios; replaces OEM part XB10.
3.7V nominal voltage with 550mAh capacity delivers stable transmit and receive power across the full duty cycle.
Proprietary connector locks into the wrist radio's battery slot with a positive mechanical latch; orientation is keyed.
We ran this cell through full discharge and recharge on a Wristlinx x3x bench unit; BMS accepted the new pack on first insertion with no dock fault light.
On first use with a Wristlinx x3x, insert the battery, press the power button, and allow the bar indicator to stabilize for 10 seconds before transmitting—new Li-ion cells at storage voltage sometimes show one bar lower than actual capacity until the voltage regulator settles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Xact Communication Wristlinx x3x Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (XB10)

This is a 3.7V, 550mAh Li-ion replacement for the XB10 battery pack. It fits the Wristlinx x3x wrist-mounted two-way radio and powers both the transmitter and receiver circuits. The same pack also fits the Wristlinx x2x, x33xif-2, and x33xif variants.

  • Wristlinx x-series compatibility: These models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, XB10 connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one pack covers the full lineup.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the XB10 pack through full charge and discharge cycles on the Wristlinx platform. The BMS handled PTT transmit spikes without tripping into overcurrent lockout, and the protection circuit responded correctly at low-voltage cutoff.
  • First insertion on the Wristlinx dock: If the charger shows a fault indication on first insertion, remove the pack, wipe the contact pads with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly. The Wristlinx dock requires a clean contact cycle to complete the BMS handshake before it begins charging.

Why the Wristlinx x3x cuts out mid-transmission on a new XB10

A new XB10 ships at storage voltage — typically around 3.6V — not a full 4.2V charge. When PTT is pressed, the transmitter draws a sharp current spike that briefly drops cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold. The radio interprets that voltage sag as a depleted pack and kills the transmit circuit. Charge the pack fully before the first use to bring the cell above 4.1V and eliminate this behaviour.

Bar indicator showing one fewer bar than expected after inserting a new XB10

The Wristlinx uses a simple voltage-threshold bar indicator — each bar maps to a specific cell voltage band. A new pack at storage voltage sits in the second or third bar band, not the top. This is not a capacity fault; the cell is healthy but not fully charged. Put the pack on the dock until the charge indicator clears, and the bar display will read the correct level at or above 4.1V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Wristlinx x3x cuts out every time I press PTT — is the new XB10 pack faulty?

The pack is not faulty. New Li-ion cells ship at storage voltage, around 3.6V, and the transmit current spike on PTT pulls the cell voltage below the BMS cutoff briefly — the radio shuts TX to protect the cell. Charge the pack fully on the dock before first use. Once the cell is at 4.1V or above, PTT cutouts stop.

The Wristlinx dock blinks a fault LED and never starts charging the new battery — what's wrong?

The dock runs a contact-check cycle before it accepts a new pack, and any oxidation or debris on the contact pads will block the BMS handshake. Remove the XB10, wipe all contact pads on both the battery and the dock with a dry cloth, and reseat the pack with firm, even pressure. If the fault LED clears within a few seconds of reseating, charging will proceed normally.

The Wristlinx x3x drops to barely audible TX volume partway through a shift — is this a battery problem?

Yes. Sustained RF output draws continuous current, and as cell voltage sags under load, the radio steps down transmit power to stay within the BMS operating window. This typically happens when the cell drops below roughly 3.5V under load. If the pack is fully charged and the drop still occurs early in a shift, the cell impedance may be elevated — cycle the pack through two or three full charge-discharge sequences to allow the BMS to stabilise its protection thresholds.
