Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Xiaomi Mi 10T 5G — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BM53)

This is a 3.85V, 4900mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Xiaomi Mi 10T 5G (M2007J3SY). It replaces the original BM53 cell when the existing battery no longer holds charge or causes unexpected shutdowns. Dimensions are 84.40 x 64.24 x 5.25mm — matching the original footprint for a direct installation.

  • Mi 10T 5G and M2007J3SY compatibility: Both model identifiers refer to the same hardware platform. The BM53 part number, connector pinout, and BMS handshake are identical across both SKUs — one battery covers the full variant range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the Mi 10T 5G. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake without fault codes, and the fuel gauge IC tracked cell voltage correctly after one complete cycle.
  • First-cycle fast charge protocol: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.

Why the Mi 10T 5G reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The fuel gauge IC stores a discharge curve from the original cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the new cell's voltage-to-capacity relationship. The IC reads voltage correctly but maps it to the wrong percentage. One full discharge-charge cycle at standard rate forces the coulomb counter to recalibrate against the new curve and corrects the displayed percentage.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% charge remaining on the replacement cell

This happens when the modem or display pulls a high current spike and the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold before the gauge registers the drop. A fresh cell with an uncalibrated fuel gauge IC is especially vulnerable at this point in the discharge curve. The BMS reads the voltage sag as a low-cell event and cuts power to protect the cell. Run one full unconstrained discharge to 0% via normal use, then charge to 100% — this resets the low-voltage threshold mapping on the gauge IC.

Frequently Asked Questions

The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat unused in a drawer for a few months — is the battery dead?

It's likely in BMS lockout. Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell dropped below 2.5V per cell the BMS trips a hard protection cutoff to prevent damage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a computer USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power on. The charge IC needs time to push a trickle current through the BMS lockout before the protection circuit resets and normal charging resumes.

Fast charging stopped working after I installed this battery — the phone only charges slowly now

The USB-PD and Xiaomi fast charge protocols require a BMS handshake before the charge IC steps up to high current. On the first cycle with a new cell, the BMS often refuses the high-current handshake until it has completed one full standard charge. Charge to 100% at the slow rate, let the phone rest for five minutes, then reconnect — the fast charge handshake typically completes correctly on the second connection after that first full cycle.

The battery percentage is jumping around erratically — it shows 45%, then jumps to 60%, then drops to 30% within minutes

The fuel gauge IC is reading voltage correctly but mapping it against the old cell's discharge curve, which no longer matches this cell. The coulomb counter has not yet recalibrated. Drain the phone through normal use until it shuts off on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100% with fast charging disabled. That single full cycle gives the IC enough data points to rebuild an accurate curve and the erratic percentage jumps will stop.
