Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Xiaomi Redmi 10C — 3.87V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BN5G)
The BN5G is a 3.87V, 4900mAh Li-Polymer cell that fits the Xiaomi Redmi 10C and its regional variants including 220333QAG, 220333QBI, and 220333QNY. It replaces a degraded original cell when the phone can no longer sustain a full day on a single charge. Capacity figures here come directly from the product specification — 18.96Wh total energy.
- Redmi 10C variant compatibility: Xiaomi released the Redmi 10C under multiple regional model numbers — 220333QAG, 220333QBI, 220333QNY, and three further SKUs — but all share the same battery bay dimensions (97.00 × 65.00 × 4.10mm), the same 3.87V nominal rail, and the same BN5G connector pinout. One cell covers all of them.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the BN5G through charge and discharge cycles on the Redmi 10C platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, the charge IC ramped to full current, and the fuel gauge IC registered capacity without prompting a recalibration warning on the first cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after installation: On first use after swapping this cell in, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% on standard 10W. This gives the coulomb counter a clean reference curve before high-current charging sessions begin.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Redmi 10C after a cell swap
A new Li-Polymer cell has a slightly different discharge curve than the worn cell the fuel gauge IC was calibrated against. When the phone's coulomb counter expects remaining capacity but the new cell's voltage drops sharply under modem or display load, the BMS cuts output before the reported percentage reaches zero. This is not a defective cell — it is a calibration mismatch. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by a complete charge to 100% resets the reference points the fuel gauge uses, and the shutdowns stop.
Xiaomi's fast charging protocol not activating on the first cycle after replacement
Xiaomi's proprietary fast charge handshake runs a voltage negotiation between the charger and the charge IC. On a freshly installed cell, the BMS may reject the elevated current on the first charge because it has no prior state-of-health data to validate the request against. This causes the phone to fall back to standard 5W charging on that first session. Charge fully once at standard rate, let the phone complete a full discharge cycle, then plug into the fast charger — the handshake succeeds once the BMS has one full cycle of data at 3.87V nominal.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Redmi 10C keeps shutting off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is the cell faulty?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC on the Redmi 10C was calibrated to the discharge curve of the original worn cell, not the new one. When voltage sags under screen or modem load, the BMS cuts power before the displayed percentage reaches zero. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown and then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this gives the coulomb counter a clean reference and the premature shutdowns stop.
The battery percentage on my Redmi 10C is jumping around after the swap — it was at 60%, then jumped to 45% in two minutes without heavy use.
Erratic percentage readings after a cell replacement are a fuel gauge IC recalibration symptom, not a sign of a bad cell. The coulomb counter is still mapping the new cell's discharge curve and is interpolating between stale reference points from the old battery. Let the phone run down to auto-shutdown once, then charge to 100% without interruption on a standard charger. After that single full cycle the readings stabilise at the correct curve.
My Redmi 10C won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it — nothing happens when I press the power button.
Li-Polymer cells in storage self-discharge over time, and if the BN5G dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell before installation, the BMS will have tripped into lockout mode to prevent over-discharge damage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20 to 30 minutes without attempting to power on. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until voltage rises above the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 3.0V, at which point the phone will respond normally to the power button.
