Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BN4A)
This is a 3.85V, 3900mAh Li-Polymer cell built to the BN4A specification. It fits the Redmi Note 7, including variants M1901F7G, M1901F7H, and M1901F7C. If your original battery swells, drains rapidly, or shuts down unexpectedly, this cell restores full capacity to the handset.
- M1901F variant coverage: The Note 7 shipped across multiple regional variants — M1901F7G (Global), M1901F7H (India), and M1901F7C (China) among others. All share the same BN4A cell footprint, connector, and BMS handshake, so one replacement covers the full production run.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and load on the Redmi Note 7 platform. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake without error flags, and the coulomb counter tracked state-of-charge across the full voltage window from 4.35V down to 3.0V cutoff.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after installation: On first use after fitting, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging is applied to an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still using the discharge curve learned from the degraded original cell. The new cell has a steeper voltage drop under load — modem transmit bursts and AMOLED peaks pull several hundred milliamps simultaneously. The PMIC reads a voltage sag and trips the low-battery cutoff before the percentage display reflects actual remaining capacity. One full slow-charge cycle forces the coulomb counter to relearn the curve, and the shutdowns stop.
USB fast charge not working on first cycle after fitting the BN4A
Xiaomi's proprietary fast charge protocol requires a BMS handshake between the charge IC and the cell's protection circuit. On a new cell, the BMS starts in a conservative state and may not complete that handshake on the first charge attempt. Plug in via standard 5V before using the bundled fast charger. Once the cell reaches a full charge at standard rate, the BMS unlocks the higher-current pathway and fast charging resumes normally on subsequent cycles.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Redmi Note 7 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?
Almost certainly not dead — it's a BMS lockout. Li-Polymer cells that self-discharge below roughly 2.5V per cell trigger the protection circuit, which opens the output path to prevent damage. Connect the phone to the original Xiaomi charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button; the charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold. Once voltage recovers to around 3.0V, the BMS closes and the phone powers on normally.
The battery percentage on my Note 7 jumps around erratically — it reads 45%, then skips to 60%, then drops back to 30% within minutes.
The fuel gauge IC learned the discharge curve of your old, degraded cell over hundreds of cycles. The new BN4A cell has a different impedance and voltage profile at each state-of-charge point, so the coulomb counter is mapping percentage to the wrong voltage landmarks. Run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% at standard rate with fast charging off. After that single calibration cycle, the percentage readings stabilise.
The phone gets noticeably warm near the battery while charging the new cell — is something wrong with the replacement?
This is expected on the first several charge cycles with a new high-impedance cell. A fresh Li-Polymer cell has higher internal resistance than a broken-in one, and the charge IC pushes current into that resistance, generating heat. Surface warmth during charging is normal; heat that makes the back panel uncomfortable to touch is not. If it stays hot throughout a full charge cycle after the third or fourth cycle, check that the phone's charge IC hasn't defaulted to fast charge mode — disable it in Settings → Battery → Optimised charging and retest at 5V standard rate.
