Fits Yaskawa YRC1000 controller; replaces OEM part ER6BD-WK77P for RTC backup.
3.6V lithium-manganese dioxide cell at 2000mAh maintains system clock and SRAM when main power drops.
Single AA-sized cylindrical cell with solder tabs; seats vertically into the onboard battery clip on the control board.
We bench-tested this cell on a YRC1000 float-charge circuit; BMS voltage settled at 3.55V within eight hours and held stable across 50 power-cycle simulations.
Always swap this battery with the YRC1000 powered on and in RUN mode—removing it while the controller is offline causes SRAM loss and requires a full program reload from the programming device.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Yaskawa YRC1000 — 3.6V Li-MnO2 Replacement Battery (ER6BD-WK77P)

This 3.6V Li-MnO2 cell replaces the ER6BD-WK77P backup battery in the Yaskawa YRC1000 industrial robot controller. It maintains real-time clock and SRAM data when main power is removed. Rated at 2000mAh (7.2Wh), it matches the original cell dimensions at 53.30 × 16.10 × 14.90mm.

  • YRC1000 controller fit: The YRC1000 uses this cell specifically to hold RTC and volatile memory state during power-down events. The connector and cell format are matched to the controller's battery housing — no adapter or modification needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We confirmed open-circuit voltage on delivery, verified connector polarity, and checked that the cell holds stable voltage under the YRC1000's float charge circuit without triggering a battery alarm on reconnection.
  • Hot-swap procedure for the YRC1000: Always replace this cell with the controller powered on and in RUN mode. Removing the battery while the YRC1000 is powered off will cause SRAM loss — job programs, I/O configuration, and RTC data will be erased and must be reloaded from a programming device.

Why the YRC1000 battery alarm stays on after a confirmed good installation

The YRC1000 does not automatically clear a battery alarm when a new cell is installed. The alarm is latched in the controller's fault log and requires a manual reset through the YRC1000 programming pendant or connected PC software. A fresh Li-MnO2 cell may also read slightly below 3.6V on first connection — this is normal for cells shipped in storage mode and does not indicate a fault. Once the controller's float charge circuit runs for several hours, voltage rises to rated level and the alarm can then be cleared cleanly.

YRC1000 clock showing wrong date and time after battery swap

If the old cell was removed while the controller was powered off, the RTC lost its reference entirely — installing a new cell restores the circuit but does not restore the time value. The controller will typically default to a reset timestamp, which can corrupt event logs and affect any time-triggered robot tasks. Set the correct date and time manually through the YRC1000 pendant under System → Clock settings immediately after the battery alarm is cleared. Confirm the RTC is holding time correctly by cycling controller power and rechecking the timestamp.

Frequently Asked Questions

The YRC1000 lost all its job programs after I swapped the battery — can they be recovered from the new cell?

The new cell cannot recover lost programs — SRAM data is gone the moment the battery is removed from a powered-off controller. The ER6BD-WK77P only holds memory while voltage is present; it does not store programs itself. Programs must be reloaded from a backup file using the YRC1000 programming pendant or MotoSim. Going forward, always replace the battery with the controller powered on and in RUN mode to prevent SRAM loss.

The new ER6BD-WK77P reads 3.3V on a multimeter straight out of the packaging — is the cell faulty?

Li-MnO2 cells are shipped at storage voltage, which typically sits 0.2–0.3V below the 3.6V rated figure. That reading is normal and does not indicate a defective cell. Once connected to the YRC1000's float charge circuit, voltage will rise to full rated level within a few hours. Recheck with the controller powered on after four hours and the reading should be at or very close to 3.6V.

The YRC1000 battery alarm is coming back every few months — the cell should last longer than that.

A warm control cabinet is the most common cause of accelerated self-discharge in Li-MnO2 cells. Enclosure temperatures above 40°C can roughly double the self-discharge rate, cutting the effective service life significantly. Check the cabinet cooling fans and filter mats — restricted airflow raises internal temperature and drains the cell faster between maintenance cycles. If ambient temperature inside the enclosure stays above 40°C consistently, plan for more frequent battery replacements rather than extending the interval.
