Fits HP Sprocket 200 portable photo printer; replaces OEM part 1AS84-60006.
This 7.4V 600mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers enough capacity for multiple print sessions before recharge.
Connector seats into the battery compartment on the printer's rear panel with positive contact orientation.
We bench-tested the cell on a Sprocket 200 unit; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion without error codes.
Charge fully before your first print session — the paper feed motor and print head heating cycle draw peak current simultaneously and can trigger a voltage cutoff on a partially charged new cell.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HP Sprocket 200 — 7.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (1AS84-60006)

This 7.4V 600mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the original cell in the HP Sprocket 200 compact portable photo printer. It fits the Sprocket 200 specifically — not the Sprocket Plus, Select, or first-generation Sprocket. Voltage and capacity match OEM part 1AS84-60006 exactly.

  • Sprocket 200 fit: The Sprocket 200 uses a dedicated battery bay with a connector pinout that differs from other Sprocket models. The BMS handshake on this cell communicates charge state to the printer's firmware, which gates the paper feed motor. An incompatible cell will power the display but block printing.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge cycles on a Sprocket 200 unit and monitored BMS cutoff thresholds during the paper feed and print head heating sequence. The cell held voltage within spec across multiple consecutive prints without triggering low-voltage shutdown.
  • First-use charge requirement: Charge this battery fully before the first print job. The paper feed motor and print head heating cycle draw peak current simultaneously at print start. A partially charged new cell sits close to the BMS low-voltage trip threshold — enough to abort the first print before a page exits.

Print quality fading mid-print on a fresh battery

The Sprocket 200 print head uses a heat-transfer process — consistent temperature across the full 2x3-inch pass determines whether colour density is even. If battery voltage sags during the print cycle, the head heats unevenly, producing a gradient fade from top to bottom of the photo. This happens most often on cells that have been shallow-cycled or stored at low charge. A full charge before printing stabilises the voltage rail and keeps head temperature consistent throughout the pass.

Bluetooth connection drops after battery replacement

Swapping the battery cuts power to the Sprocket 200's Bluetooth module, which clears its active pairing state. The printer will not automatically reconnect to a previously paired phone after reassembly. Open the HP Sprocket app, go to the printer list, remove the Sprocket 200 entry, then re-pair from scratch. Once paired, the connection is stable — this is a one-time step after any power interruption.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Sprocket 200 powers on after the battery swap but won't feed paper — what's wrong?

The paper feed motor needs the BMS to confirm sufficient charge before the printer releases the feed mechanism. If the new battery arrived partially discharged, the firmware sees voltage below the print threshold and blocks the motor even though the display works. Charge the battery fully via USB-C before attempting a print. Once at full charge, the feed mechanism releases normally.

Print colours look washed out in the bottom third of every photo — is this the battery?

Yes. The Sprocket 200 print head draws current continuously across the full print pass, and if voltage sags partway through, head temperature drops and dye transfer becomes inconsistent. This shows up as fading or low saturation in the lower portion of the photo. It's most common when printing multiple photos back-to-back on a partially charged cell. Let the battery reach full charge and allow 30 seconds between prints to let voltage recover.

Print speed seems slower on battery than when the Sprocket 200 was plugged into USB — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. The Sprocket 200 firmware reduces paper feed motor speed under battery power to prevent the start-up current spike from tripping the BMS low-voltage cutoff. USB power delivers higher sustained current with no cutoff risk, so the printer runs at full motor speed. On battery, this is normal behaviour — the output print quality is identical, only the feed pace changes.
