This is a 3.7V 3400mAh Li-ion battery for the Zebra 8690i wearable RFID mini scanner. It replaces OEM part numbers BAT-SCN07 and 50164357-001. The 8690i is a ring-style wearable terminal used in warehouse pick-and-pack, inventory counting, and asset tracking workflows.

The 8690i cradle communicates with the battery through spring-loaded dock contacts on the underside of the ring unit. Oxidation or debris on either the pack contacts or the cradle pins raises contact resistance enough to trigger a charging fault on the dock's LED indicator. Clean the gold contacts on the battery and the cradle pins with a dry lint-free cloth before reseating. If the error clears and charging begins, the pack itself was never the problem — contact resistance was.

The 8690i draws simultaneously from the Bluetooth radio and the scan trigger during burst scanning — two inrush loads hitting the cell at once. When a degraded or low battery can't sustain voltage under that combined draw, the radio subsystem drops first because the scanner firmware prioritises the imager. The result looks like a wireless dropout but the root cause is voltage sag at the cell. Charge the pack to full before a high-frequency scanning shift, and check that the cell voltage at rest is above 3.6V before clocking on.
