Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Urovo i9100 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HBL9100)
This 3.7V, 5200mAh lithium-ion pack replaces the OEM battery in the Urovo i9100 rugged handheld mobile computer. The i9100 is a barcode scanner used in warehouse, logistics, and retail pick-and-pack operations. Voltage and cell count match the original, so the BMS handshake proceeds without errors on a charged pack.
- i9100 platform fit: The i9100 uses a single-cell 3.7V nominal rail with a proprietary connector keyed to HBL9100 and NBL9100 packs. The BMS in this replacement mirrors the original cell configuration, so the device firmware recognises the pack and reports charge state correctly through the status bar.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the i9100's charge and discharge cycle on the bench. The BMS held the full-charge cutoff at 4.2V and triggered low-voltage protection cleanly at 3.0V, with no false cutoffs under combined wireless radio and scan-trigger load.
- First-shift prep on the i9100: After installing, seat the scanner in its charging cradle and run a full charge cycle before triggering any scans. The inrush current from the scan trigger is highest when the cell is near minimum — a fully charged pack prevents a BMS trip at the start of the first shift.
Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
The i9100 runs both a wireless radio and a scan trigger from the same cell. During rapid barcode scanning, the combined inrush from the imager firing and the radio transmitting simultaneously causes a brief voltage sag on the cell. If the cell voltage dips below the BMS protection threshold — typically around 3.0V under load — the BMS trips and the radio drops before the device fully powers off. A fresh, fully charged 5200mAh cell holds the voltage rail steadier under that combined load than a degraded original pack would.
Cradle showing a charging error after fitting the new pack
A charging error on the cradle display after a battery swap almost always points to contact resistance, not a faulty cell. Wipe the gold contacts on the battery base and the corresponding pins inside the cradle slot with a dry cloth, then reseat the scanner firmly until it clicks. If the error clears within 30 seconds of reseating, the contacts were the cause. If the error persists, confirm the cradle output voltage at the pins — it should read 4.2–4.5V DC before dismissing the pack as the fault.

Frequently Asked Questions
My i9100 barcode scanner won't read anything after I put in the new battery — is the imager dead?
The imager needs a minimum voltage to fire the laser or LED array. If the replacement pack shipped partially discharged, the cell voltage may be too low to power the imager reliably even though the device turns on. Place the scanner in its cradle and charge fully before attempting a scan. Once the cell reaches 4.0V or above, the imager should fire normally.
The i9100 feels warm after a full warehouse shift — is that a battery problem?
Warmth after an extended shift is normal on the i9100 because the housing encloses both the wireless radio and the scan engine, and both draw from the same cell continuously. What you're feeling is resistive heat from sustained combined draw, not a fault. If the housing is hot to the touch rather than warm, or if the device shuts down mid-shift, check that the battery contacts are seated clean and flat — a high-resistance contact point concentrates heat at the connector rather than distributing it across the cell.
The new battery drains faster on short shifts than the old one did when it was new — what's causing that?
A new lithium-ion cell sometimes needs two or three full charge-discharge cycles before it reaches rated capacity. If you pulled the scanner off the cradle before a full charge completed, the usable capacity on that shift reflects a partially charged cell, not the pack's actual capacity. Run three complete cradle charge cycles — charge to full, use until the low battery warning triggers, then charge to full again — and shift endurance should stabilise at the 5200mAh rated level.
