Fingerprint sensor not responding after battery replacement

The S922's fingerprint processor has a minimum operating voltage threshold — if the replacement battery ships at a low state of charge, the sensor can fail to initialise even though the display powers on. This is not a faulty sensor or a bad battery. Charge the unit fully via its AC adapter before attempting fingerprint verification. Once the pack reaches full charge and the system voltage stabilises above 7.8V, the sensor module will power up and respond normally.

The S922 clock is showing the wrong time after a power outage — will this battery fix that?

Not necessarily. The S922 uses a separate real-time clock (RTC) cell to maintain timekeeping independent of the main backup battery. If the RTC cell is depleted, the main pack alone will not restore accurate time after a complete power loss. Check and replace the RTC coin cell if the clock resets consistently after outages, then re-sync the time via the device menu or ZKTeco management software.

The S922 is not recognising the new battery and shows a battery error on screen — what causes that?

The S922 BMS performs a handshake with the installed pack — if the replacement battery is deeply discharged from storage, the device may reject it or display a fault before charging can begin. Connect the AC adapter and leave the unit powered for at least two hours before drawing any conclusion. If the error clears once the pack climbs above 7.4V, the battery is fine and was simply too low on arrival to pass the initial handshake check.
