Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ZKTeco ZK-255 / AQD-V43-W — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (YT105050)
This is a 3.7V 3000mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the ZKTeco ZK-255 and the Multifunctional Air Quality Detector AQD-V43-W. It uses OEM part number YT105050 and matches the original cell footprint at 49.60 × 49.50 × 9.70mm. If your instrument is shutting down in the field or no longer holding charge, this pack replaces the original cell directly.
- ZK-255 and AQD-V43-W compatibility: Both devices run the same 3.7V single-cell architecture with identical connector pinout and BMS handshake protocol. The YT105050 part number covers both units — the air quality detector and the ZK-255 share the same battery bay and protection circuit interface.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack under sensor-active load conditions and monitored BMS response during probe initialisation. The protection circuit handled the brief current spike at sensor power-up without triggering a false cutoff, and the cell voltage remained stable across a sustained logging session.
- First-use calibration on the ZK-255: After installing this pack, run a full calibration cycle through the instrument menu before field deployment. The ZK-255 maps battery state during calibration — skipping this step causes premature low-battery warnings during your first measurement session even when the pack is fully charged.
ZK-255 shutting down mid-measurement with battery showing charged
The ZK-255 draws a brief current spike each time the sensor array initialises or a new probe module powers up. If the cell's internal resistance has climbed — common in aged Li-Polymer packs — that spike pulls the terminal voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold for a fraction of a second. The instrument interprets this as a dead battery and shuts off even if the state of charge reads high. A fresh cell with lower internal resistance keeps the voltage rail stable through those transient loads and prevents nuisance shutdowns.
Pack will not charge after the instrument sat unused for months
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge over time. If the ZK-255 sat in a case for several months, the pack may have dropped below 2.5V — the threshold where most BMS circuits lock out to prevent cell damage. The charger sees the lock and stops, so the instrument shows no charging activity. Connect the device to a charger and leave it for 45–60 minutes without interruption; some BMS circuits re-initialise through a trickle-charge recovery cycle once voltage climbs back above 2.8V. If the pack still does not respond, the original cell is below recovery voltage and needs replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions
My ZK-255 powers on fine but resets or loses the reading partway through a logging session — is that the battery?
Yes, sustained sensor load during a logging session draws more current than a short power-on cycle, and an aged or partially discharged cell will sag below the instrument's minimum operating voltage under that load. The ZK-255 interprets the voltage dropout as a shutdown event and resets the active session. Install the replacement pack and run a full calibration cycle through the instrument menu before your next field session — this lets the device re-map the new cell's discharge curve and prevents mid-session resets.
The ZK-255 display shows an inconsistent battery percentage every time I reboot — it jumps between readings rather than showing a steady number.
The ZK-255 estimates state of charge by reading cell voltage at startup and comparing it against a stored discharge curve. A new cell has a slightly different resting voltage profile than the original aged pack, so the instrument's threshold indicators appear out of sync until the device recalibrates. Run two or three full charge-to-active-use cycles, including the calibration procedure in the instrument menu, and the percentage readout will stabilise against the new cell's actual curve.
The ZK-255 shuts off every time I connect it to a PC for data transfer, even when the battery indicator looks fine.
USB data transfer adds a simultaneous draw on top of the instrument's active sensor load — the combined current pulls the cell voltage down sharply if the pack has high internal resistance or low capacity. The BMS trips the cutoff and the device disconnects from the PC before the transfer completes. With this replacement 3000mAh pack installed, charge to 100% before starting any USB transfer session, and verify the charging cable is not still connected to the instrument during transfer, as some ZK-255 units show voltage instability when charging and transferring simultaneously.
