Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ZTE U880S2 / V880S2 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (Li3712T42P3h484952)
This is a 3.7V, 1200mAh Li-ion cell built to fit the ZTE U880S2 and V880S2 smartphones. It replaces the original Li3712T42P3h484952 cell when the existing battery no longer holds charge or swells. Dimensions are 47.85 × 48.86 × 5.15mm — measure your original before ordering if unsure.
- U880S2 and V880S2 compatibility: Both model variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — one cell fits both without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the U880S2 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, and the charge IC cycled correctly from cutoff to full termination voltage.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge fully without interruption. This gives the phone's fuel gauge IC a clean reference cycle against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging begins.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the U880S2 after a cell swap
The U880S2 uses a coulomb-counter fuel gauge that was calibrated to the old cell's internal resistance profile. When a new cell is fitted, the gauge doesn't yet know where the new cell's voltage cliff sits — the point where voltage collapses rapidly under modem or display load. The phone sees the voltage drop faster than expected and triggers an emergency shutdown, even though the reported percentage still shows charge remaining. One full discharge-charge cycle corrects the reference table. After that cycle, reported percentage and actual remaining capacity align correctly.
Phone won't power on after the replacement cell sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If this cell dropped below roughly 2.5V before installation, the BMS may have entered a lockout state to prevent damage to the over-discharged cell. Plugging into a charger may show no response at all — no charging LED, no boot. Connect the phone to a wall adapter rated at 5V and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power on. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until voltage recovers above the BMS re-enable threshold, after which normal charging and boot behaviour resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions
The ZTE U880S2 keeps shutting off at around 25% battery even though I just put in a new cell — what's happening?
This is a voltage cliff issue, not a cell defect. The phone's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old battery's internal resistance curve, so it misjudges where the new cell's voltage collapses under load from the modem or screen. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without interrupting. After that single reference cycle, the gauge recalibrates and the shutdowns stop.
The battery percentage on my U880S2 is jumping around erratically after fitting the replacement — is the cell faulty?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC on this phone uses a coulomb counter that tracks charge based on the old battery's known capacity and impedance. A new cell has a different discharge curve, so the counter loses accuracy until it has a complete reference cycle to work from. Let the phone discharge fully to shutdown once, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. The percentage readings stabilise after that first full cycle — erratic jumps are the gauge recalibrating, not a sign of a bad cell.
My U880S2 won't turn on at all after the new battery arrived and I installed it — no response to charging either.
The cell likely discharged below 2.5V during shipping or storage, which triggers BMS lockout to prevent further cell damage. In lockout, the phone shows no LED, no boot screen, and no response to the power button. Plug into a 5V wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it untouched for at least 20 minutes. The charge IC delivers a low trickle current until the cell voltage recovers above the BMS re-enable threshold, at which point normal charging resumes and the phone will boot.
