Fits Manta TEL2405 and TEL2408 smartphones, replacing the OEM 3.7V Li-ion cell.
3.7V at 900mAh delivers 3.33Wh to sustain calls, messaging, and app use on a single charge cycle.
Connector slides into the battery slot with a locking tab — no adhesive removal or special tools required.
We bench-tested the cell in a TEL2405 with the fuel gauge IC active; BMS accepted input current without fault codes on first insertion.
On first use, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this allows the fuel gauge IC to recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging stresses an uncalibrated BMS.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Manta TEL2405 / TEL2408 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V, 900mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Manta TEL2405 and TEL2408 smartphones. It physically measures 53.00 × 34.00 × 4.30mm and slots into the same bay as the factory cell. If your phone is shutting down unexpectedly or no longer holding a charge, this is the direct swap.

  • TEL2405 and TEL2408 compatibility: Both models run the same 3.7V single-cell architecture with an identical battery bay footprint. The connector pinout and BMS communication protocol are shared across the pair, so one cell covers both handsets without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a controlled rig. The BMS accepted charge input without error, held voltage within tolerance across the full discharge curve, and triggered protection cutoff cleanly at the low-voltage threshold.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.

Why the TEL2405 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The fuel gauge IC on these Manta handsets stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When a new cell goes in, the IC still references the old curve, so reported percentage drifts from actual state of charge. This shows up most often as the phone reading 40% and then jumping to 15% under modem load. One full uninterrupted discharge-to-shutdown followed by a full charge lets the coulomb counter reset and map the new cell accurately.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity fault. When the modem transmits or the screen peaks brightness, current draw spikes and a partially aged — or freshly installed uncalibrated — cell drops below the BMS cutoff voltage for a split second, triggering shutdown. The phone shows 25% because the fuel gauge IC hasn't mapped where voltage actually collapses under load on the new cell. Run one full discharge cycle without interruption, then charge to 100% — the IC recalibrates the cutoff threshold against real load data and the shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Manta TEL2405 won't turn on at all after the new battery sat in a drawer for a few weeks — is the battery dead?

It's almost certainly a BMS lockout, not a dead cell. If a Li-ion cell discharges below roughly 2.5V in storage, the protection circuit locks out to prevent damage, and the phone shows nothing when you press power. Plug it into a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until it clears the lockout threshold and the BMS re-enables normal charging.

The TEL2408 gets noticeably warm near the battery area during the first few charges after I installed this cell — is that normal?

Yes, and here's why. A brand-new cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a cell that's been through several cycles. The charge IC doesn't adjust input current for a fresh cell, so more energy converts to heat during that first charge. Warmth near the battery bay on the first two or three charges is expected. If the phone is hot to the touch or charging stops before 100%, that points to a charge IC fault rather than the cell itself — check that the battery connector is fully seated.

Fast charging stopped working after I swapped the battery in my TEL2405 — the phone just charges slowly now.

The fast charge handshake on these Manta phones runs through the BMS on the battery side. On the first cycle after a cell swap, some BMS units don't immediately accept the fast-charge protocol negotiation from the charge IC, defaulting to standard current. Run one full charge at slow speed to let the BMS and charge IC complete their initial handshake cycle. After that cycle, fast charging typically re-engages automatically on the next plug-in — no settings change needed.
