Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ZUK Z2 Pro Series — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BL263)
The BL263 is a 3.85V, 3100mAh Li-Polymer cell that fits the ZUK Z2 Pro, Z2 Pro Ultimate Edition, Z2 Pro Ultimate Edition TD-LTE Dual SIM, and Z2 Pro Exclusive Edition. It restores power to the phone for calls, messaging, apps, and media playback. Swap it when the original cell no longer holds enough charge to carry the phone through a normal day.
- Z2 Pro platform compatibility: Every variant in the Z2 Pro line — including the TD-LTE Dual SIM and Exclusive Edition — uses the same BL263 footprint, voltage rail, and connector pinout. One cell covers all of them.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Z2 Pro mainboard. The BMS accepted handshake on first connection, charge IC ramped up without fault codes, and voltage held steady under sustained screen and modem load.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate. The fuel gauge IC on the Z2 Pro calibrates its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve during that first cycle — skipping it on a fresh cell causes percentage readings to drift for days.
Why the Z2 Pro reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the old cell. When a new cell goes in, the IC still references that old curve, so the percentage shown on screen doesn't match actual charge state. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% forces the IC to rewrite its reference curve against the new cell. Until that cycle completes, expect the percentage to jump or stall at certain thresholds. After recalibration, readings stabilise within one or two additional cycles.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Z2 Pro after replacement
This happens when the cell voltage drops below the load threshold under a simultaneous modem and display draw — even though the fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. The BMS cuts output to protect the cell before the percentage reaches zero, which looks like a random crash. Run the fuel gauge recalibration cycle described above first. If shutdowns persist after two full cycles, check that the battery connector is fully seated — a partial connection raises contact resistance and accelerates voltage sag under load. A fully seated, recalibrated cell should hold voltage above 3.5V through the 20% range.

Frequently Asked Questions
Fast charging stopped working the moment I put the new BL263 in — is the replacement cell the problem?
This is normal on the first cycle with a new cell. The Z2 Pro's charge IC runs a handshake with the BMS before allowing high-current fast charge — on a fresh cell with no charge history, the BMS often defaults to standard rate until it completes one full cycle. Plug in using the original charger and cable, let it charge to 100% at standard rate without interrupting it, then disconnect and try fast charge again. Most units accept the fast charge protocol from the second cycle onward.
My Z2 Pro won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before installation — how do I recover it?
A Li-Polymer cell stored at low or zero charge can drop below 2.5V, which triggers BMS lockout to prevent further discharge damage. The phone won't power on because the BMS blocks output until the cell voltage climbs back into the safe operating window. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell up through the lockout threshold before normal charging begins. Once the screen shows a charging indicator, the BMS has cleared and you can continue to a full charge.
The phone feels noticeably warm near the battery area during the first few charges — is something wrong?
A new high-impedance cell generates slightly more heat as the charge IC adjusts current delivery during the initial cycles. This is expected and typically reduces after two or three complete charge cycles as the cell's internal resistance drops. Charge in a ventilated spot and avoid placing the phone face-down on insulating surfaces like a bed or sofa during those first charges. If the back of the phone becomes hot to the touch — not just warm — disconnect and inspect the battery connector seating before charging again.
