Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alcatel One Touch Pixi 3 7 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TLP040D2)
This 3.8V, 4000mAh (15.2Wh) lithium-polymer battery replaces the TLP040D2 cell in the Alcatel One Touch Pixi 3 7 tablet, covering models 9007T and OT-9007. The original cell degrades through repeated shallow cycling — this replacement restores full charge capacity to the 7-inch tablet. Dimensions are 100.80 × 76.70 × 3.70 mm, matching the stock cell footprint.
- 9007T and OT-9007 compatibility: Both variants share the same battery bay dimensions, 3.8V nominal voltage rail, and TLP040D2 connector pinout — the BMS handshake passes without modification on either board revision.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the OT-9007 board. The BMS accepted the new cell without flag errors, and the charge IC reached full cutoff voltage cleanly at 4.35V.
- First-cycle fast-charge protocol: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — running one full cycle at standard current lets it recalibrate before high-current charging pushes into an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Pixi 3 7 after a cell swap
The Pixi 3 7 fuel gauge IC holds a discharge curve learned from the original cell. When a new cell is installed, that stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage-versus-capacity profile of the replacement. Under screen backlight or network load, the cell voltage drops faster than the IC expects, crossing the low-voltage cutoff threshold well before the reported percentage hits zero. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% forces the coulomb counter to resync against the new cell's actual curve.
Battery percentage jumping erratically on the OT-9007 after replacement
Erratic percentage readings — jumping from 45% to 60% or dropping 15 points in seconds — point to the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against a cell it has never seen before. The IC uses accumulated charge and discharge data to estimate state-of-charge; with a new cell, that data is stale and produces unstable readings. This is not a fault with the replacement cell itself. Let the tablet complete two full discharge-charge cycles without interruption and the reported percentage will stabilise.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Alcatel Pixi 3 7 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?
Most likely the BMS has entered lockout because the cell self-discharged below 2.5V during storage. Connect the tablet to a wall charger and leave it for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on — the charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell before the BMS will release the lockout. If the charging LED does not appear within an hour, the cell has dropped too low for the trickle stage to recover and the cell will need replacing.
The Pixi 3 7 feels warm near the battery compartment while charging with the new cell — should I be concerned?
A new lithium-polymer cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a cell that has been cycled a few times. The charge IC compensates by pushing a higher initial voltage, which produces moderate heat on the first few charge cycles. We measured surface temperature on the bench and it stayed within normal operating range. After three to five full charge cycles the impedance drops and the warmth during charging reduces noticeably.
Fast charging stopped working on my Pixi 3 7 right after I put in the replacement battery — it only charges slowly now?
The charge controller on the Pixi 3 7 runs a handshake with the battery BMS before accepting elevated current from the charger. On the first cycle with a new cell, the BMS may respond conservatively to that handshake and the device falls back to standard 5V charging. Complete one full standard-rate charge cycle to 100%, then discharge to below 20% before charging again. After that cycle the handshake succeeds and fast charging resumes at the normal rate.
