Fits Coolpad 7251 and 5311 smartphones; replaces OEM part CPLD-121.
3.7V and 1650mAh capacity delivers full-charge parity with the original cell for calling, messaging, and app operation.
Connector seats flush into the battery slot with no modification; locking tab aligns with the retention clip on the device frame.
Bench testing showed clean BMS initialization on first insertion; fuel gauge IC accepted the new discharge curve without error codes.
On first full charge-discharge cycle after installation, keep the phone on default charging speed—the fuel gauge needs one complete curve to recalibrate against this cell before any fast-charge protocol engages.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Coolpad 7251 / 5311 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CPLD-121)

This is a 3.7V, 1650mAh (6.11Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Coolpad 7251 and 5311 smartphones. It replaces OEM part number CPLD-121. Fit it when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge or the device shuts down unexpectedly under load.

  • Coolpad 7251 and 5311 compatibility: Both models run on the same 3.7V battery rail and use the same CPLD-121 footprint — identical connector pinout and BMS handshake protocol — so one cell covers both devices without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge passes on compatible hardware. The BMS accepted the charge current without tripping, and the protection circuit responded correctly to low-voltage cutoff at the expected threshold.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Coolpad 7251 after a cell swap

A new cell has a slightly different voltage-versus-capacity curve than the worn cell the fuel gauge IC was calibrated to. The phone reads 25% remaining but the actual cell voltage under modem or screen load drops below the cutoff threshold the processor enforces. The device shuts down even though the percentage display suggests charge remains. Run one full discharge from 100% to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this forces the coulomb counter to re-anchor its calibration points to the new cell.

Device not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If this battery spent time on a shelf before installation and dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters a lockout state to prevent damage and blocks normal charge current. The phone appears completely dead and won't respond to the power button. Connect the device to a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on; wall adapters supply enough trickle current to nudge the BMS out of lockout and allow normal charging to resume.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my Coolpad 7251 show 25% battery and then just switch off with no warning?

The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. The new cell's voltage drops below the processor's cutoff threshold under modem or display load before the percentage counter reaches zero — so the phone cuts power even though the display showed charge remaining. Run one full uninterrupted discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption. That single cycle re-anchors the coulomb counter to the new cell and the shutdowns stop.

The battery percentage on my Coolpad 7251 jumps around erratically after fitting the new cell — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The fuel gauge IC lost its reference points when the old battery was removed and is actively recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve. Erratic percentage readings — jumping from 60% to 45% to 55% within minutes — are normal during this period. Complete two full discharge-charge cycles without fast charging enabled and the readings will stabilise.

Fast charging stopped working on my Coolpad 7251 after I installed the replacement battery — why?

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC sometimes refuses to negotiate the higher current rate until it has verified the new BMS is responding correctly. This is a deliberate safety hold, not a fault. Charge the phone once at standard speed through a full cycle, then reconnect — fast charging will resume once the charge IC has confirmed the BMS handshake on the new cell.
