Fits Mobistel Cynus T5, MT-9201w, MT-9201b, MT-9201S; replaces OEM BTY26182.
3.7V, 2000mAh cell restores full charge cycles on phones reporting worn-out batteries.
Standard connector seats flush into the battery slot with no adapter needed.
We bench-cycled the pack on a Cynus T5 simulator; BMS accepted charge without fault codes.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Mobistel Cynus T5 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BTY26182)

This is a 3.7V, 2000mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Mobistel Cynus T5 smartphone. It fits the MT-9201w, MT-9201b, and MT-9201S variants — all share the same battery bay and connector. Swap this in when the original cell can no longer hold a working charge through a full day.

  • Cynus T5 and MT-9201 variants: The MT-9201w, MT-9201b, and MT-9201S use the same PCB layout, connector pitch, and BMS handshake protocol as the standard Cynus T5. One cell covers all four model codes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Cynus T5 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without triggering overcurrent or thermal cutoff flags on the first cycle.
  • First-cycle fuel gauge reset: After installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle from 100% down to automatic shutdown and back to full. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before the OS begins drawing on its percentage estimates.

Why the Cynus T5 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The Cynus T5 uses a fuel gauge IC that builds its percentage model from the coulomb counter data of the original cell. When you fit a new cell, that calibration is stale — the IC is still reading against the old discharge curve. The phone may show 40% and shut down moments later, or sit at 1% for an extended period. One full uninterrupted discharge-charge cycle resets the coulomb counter and lets the IC relearn the new cell's actual capacity. After that cycle, percentage reporting stabilises.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the new cell

This happens when the modem radio or display backlight draws a current spike the cell cannot sustain at that state of charge. Voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold — around 3.0V — and the phone cuts power before the percentage reaches zero. It is not a faulty cell; it is the fuel gauge reporting a percentage that does not match actual usable voltage under load. Run two full discharge-charge cycles so the IC recalibrates, then recheck. If shutdowns persist below 3.2V under load, check that the battery connector is fully seated and making clean contact.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Cynus T5 won't turn on at all after the new battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

A cell stored at low charge can drop below 2.5V, which triggers BMS lockout to prevent cell damage. The phone will not respond to the power button in this state. Connect the original charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything — most BMS circuits include a trickle-recovery path that will bring the cell back above the 2.8V re-initialisation threshold. Once the charging LED activates, the BMS has cleared lockout and normal charging resumes.

The phone feels noticeably warm near the battery area during the first few charges — is something wrong?

A new cell starts with higher internal impedance than a broken-in one. The charge IC pushes current into that resistance, and the energy lost in that process becomes heat. This is normal for the first three to five charge cycles and tapers off as impedance drops. If the phone becomes too hot to hold comfortably or charging stops mid-cycle, check that the back cover is seated flat and not compressing the cell — uneven pressure on the 4.61mm cell can raise impedance artificially.

Fast charging stopped working after I fitted the replacement — my charger worked fine before.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the Cynus T5's charge controller may not complete the USB handshake needed to step up to high-current charging. Unplug the phone, hold the power button for 10 seconds to clear the charge IC state, then reconnect the charger. If fast charge still does not engage, run one full slow-charge cycle first — this gives the BMS time to verify cell voltage, temperature, and impedance before it will authorise elevated charge current on the next session.
