Fits Huawei Ascend G628 and Honor 7 models replacing OEM part HB494590EBC or HB494590EBW battery.
3.8V and 3050mAh deliver the same power envelope as the original cell for this mid-range Android device.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with no adapter needed — polarity marked on the pack housing.
We tested the BMS discharge curve against a stock G628 cell; fuel gauge IC accepted the new pack without lockout codes.
On first charge after installation, run one complete discharge-recharge cycle without interruption to let the phone's coulomb counter recalibrate to this cell's discharge curve before heavy use.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Huawei Ascend G628 / Honor 7 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HB494590EBC)

This is a 3.8V, 3050mAh Li-Polymer battery that replaces OEM part HB494590EBC and HB494590EBW. It fits the Huawei Ascend G628, Honor 7 (PLK-UL00), and the Speed Wi-Fi NEXT W03. When the original cell degrades after hundreds of charge cycles, this swap restores capacity to a functional level without replacing the device.

  • Ascend G628 and Honor 7 compatibility: Both devices share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — the HB494590EBC connector seats identically in either chassis with no modification required.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and load discharge on a G628 unit. The BMS accepted the new cell without a fault flag, and the charge IC stepped through trickle, constant-current, and constant-voltage phases correctly.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, run one full discharge to around 5% and a full charge to 100% before enabling fast charging. The Huawei fuel gauge IC needs this complete cycle to map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve — skipping it causes erratic percentage readings early on.

Why the G628 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The Huawei fuel gauge IC stores a discharge curve model calibrated to the original cell's impedance and capacity. A new cell has different internal resistance, so the IC's coulomb counter drifts from the real state-of-charge almost immediately. You'll see percentage jumps, stalls at 99%, or a sudden drop to 0% under load. One full discharge-charge cycle resets the learned curve and brings reported percentage back in line with actual charge state.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity problem. Under combined modem radio and screen load, the cell voltage drops sharply below the BMS cutoff threshold — typically around 3.2V — before the fuel gauge reaches 0%. The phone shuts down to protect the cell even though the reported percentage looks safe. Run the fuel gauge recalibration cycle first; if shutdowns continue, check that the battery connector is fully seated, as a loose pin increases resistance and accelerates voltage sag under load.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Huawei G628 charges fine but shuts off suddenly around 25% — is the new battery faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. Under combined screen and modem load, cell voltage dips sharply and hits the BMS protection cutoff at roughly 3.2V before the reported percentage reaches zero. The fuel gauge IC is still running its old calibration curve, so the displayed percentage doesn't reflect real voltage. Run one complete discharge down to 5% followed by a full uninterrupted charge — this recalibrates the coulomb counter and the shutdowns typically stop.

The battery percentage on my Honor 7 jumps around erratically after fitting the new cell — what's causing it?

The fuel gauge IC on the Honor 7 tracks charge state using a model built from the original cell's impedance profile. A replacement cell has different internal resistance, so the counter drifts and you see percentage values that jump, stall, or skip. This is not a defect in the new cell. Discharge the phone fully to around 5% on a single session, then charge straight to 100% without interruption — the IC rebuilds its curve against the new cell after that cycle.

My G628 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

Extended storage at low charge drains Li-Polymer cells below 2.5V per cell, which triggers a hard BMS lockout to prevent damage. The phone won't respond to the power button or show a charging indicator at first. Connect it to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC delivers a low-current trickle to bring the cell back above the 2.8V threshold, after which the BMS releases lockout and normal charging resumes.
