Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Huawei Ascend P8 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HB3447A9EBW)
This is a 3.8V, 2600mAh Li-Polymer cell replacement for the Huawei Ascend P8 smartphone. It fits the GRA-L09, GRA-TL10, and related Ascend P8 variants. The battery installs directly against the original flex connector and BMS contact points.
- Ascend P8 GRA variant compatibility: The GRA-L09 and GRA-TL10 share the same physical battery bay, connector pitch, and 3.8V charge cutoff threshold. Both use the HB3447A9EBW cell specification, so one cell fits the full GRA sub-family without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on an Ascend P8 unit. The BMS accepted the cell on first connection, completed a full charge to 4.35V, and triggered low-voltage cutoff cleanly at the expected floor. No false capacity readings on first cycle — though the fuel gauge IC will need one full cycle to lock onto the new cell curve.
- First-cycle fast charge tip: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell — which can cause the percentage display to jump erratically in early use.
Why the Ascend P8 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The Ascend P8 uses a coulomb counter in its fuel gauge IC to track remaining capacity. That counter is calibrated to the discharge curve of the original cell. When a new cell goes in, the stored curve no longer matches actual voltage-versus-capacity behaviour, so the reported percentage drifts — sometimes reading 40% and cutting off, sometimes jumping between values. The fix is one complete discharge from 100% down to automatic shutdown, followed by a full uninterrupted charge to 100%. After that single cycle, the fuel gauge re-anchors its model to the new cell and percentage reporting stabilises.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the modem, display, or a background process pulls a brief high-current spike and the cell voltage drops sharply under load — crossing the BMS cutoff threshold even though the displayed percentage still looks safe. It is a voltage sag issue, not a capacity issue. On the Ascend P8, the modem radio during a call or LTE handoff is the most common trigger. Run one full calibration cycle first. If shutdowns persist, check that the battery flex cable is fully seated — a partially connected cell raises internal resistance and makes voltage sag worse under load.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Ascend P8 shuts off randomly at around 25% after fitting the new battery — is something wrong with the cell?
This is a fuel gauge calibration issue, not a defective cell. The phone's coulomb counter is still running the discharge curve from the old battery, so it misjudges how much voltage the new cell has left under load. Run one full cycle — charge to 100% uninterrupted, use the phone until automatic shutdown, then charge back to 100% without breaks. After that single cycle, the fuel gauge recalibrates and the early shutoffs stop.
The phone won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it.
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell dropped below approximately 2.5V, the BMS locks out to prevent damage — the phone will show nothing when you press the power button. Plug the phone into a wall charger (not a PC USB port) and leave it for 20–30 minutes without touching it. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold, usually around 3.0V, at which point the phone will begin a normal charge sequence and power on.
Fast charging stopped working on the Ascend P8 after I put in this new battery — the phone charges, but only slowly.
On the first charge cycle, the phone's charge IC sometimes defaults to standard current while it handshakes with the new cell's BMS. This is normal. Unplug the charger, let the phone power fully on, then reconnect the original Huawei charger — not a third-party cable. If fast charge still does not kick in after a full discharge-charge cycle, check that the battery flex connector is pressed fully flat into its socket, as a loose contact raises impedance and the charge IC drops to low-current mode as a protection response.
