Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Galaxy J7 2017 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (EB-BJ730ABE)
This is a 3600mAh, 3.85V lithium-polymer battery for the Samsung Galaxy J7 2017 and Galaxy J7 Pro 2017 Duos. It replaces part number EB-BJ730ABE across SM-J730G/DS and related variants. Capacity is 13.86Wh — matching the original cell specification.
- J7 2017 and J7 Pro 2017 Duos compatibility: These models share the same physical cell format, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The SM-J730G/DS and TD-LTE Duos variants draw from the same voltage rail, so one cell covers the full range without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on SM-J730G hardware. The BMS communicated correctly with the charge IC on each pass, and the fuel gauge IC accepted the cell without throwing calibration errors after the first full cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and complete one full discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the J7 2017 after a cell swap
This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity fault. Under peak load — modem transmitting or display at full brightness — the new cell momentarily drops below the shutdown threshold the fuel gauge IC is watching. The IC triggers a hard cutoff even though the coulomb counter still shows charge remaining. One full recalibration cycle — full discharge to below 5%, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — resets the threshold mapping and eliminates most of these events.
Phone won't power on after sitting in storage for several months
Lithium-polymer cells self-discharge in storage. If the cell drops below approximately 2.5V, the BMS enters a lockout state and blocks charge current to prevent thermal runaway on a deeply discharged cell. The phone will show nothing when you press the power button or connect a charger. Connect to a wall adapter — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. The BMS requires a sustained low-current trickle before it will re-initialise and allow normal charging to resume.

Frequently Asked Questions
My J7 2017 says 35% battery and then shuts off without warning — is the new cell faulty?
It is not a faulty cell. This is a fuel gauge IC mismatch — the IC is still calibrated to the discharge curve of the old cell, so it misreads the voltage cliff on the new one and triggers a hard shutdown before the display reaches 0%. Run one complete cycle: drain the phone below 5% until it shuts itself off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% on a wall adapter. That single cycle recalibrates the coulomb counter against the new cell and removes the premature cutoff.
Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery — the phone now only charges slowly.
The Samsung Adaptive Fast Charging handshake runs through the BMS, and on the first cycle after a cell swap the charge IC defaults to standard current until it validates the new cell's internal resistance profile. This is normal behaviour. Complete one full standard-rate charge cycle first. After that cycle, fast charging resumes automatically on compatible chargers — no settings change or reset is needed.
The battery percentage jumps around erratically — it skips from 60% down to 41% in seconds.
Erratic percentage jumps are caused by the fuel gauge IC interpolating against a discharge curve it has not yet measured on the new cell. Until the IC has logged at least one full discharge-to-charge cycle, it fills in missing data points with estimates from the old curve, which produces visible jumps. Drain the phone to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption on a wall adapter. After that cycle the readings stabilise at roughly ±2% accuracy.
