Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Telus Mobility — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BERR160)
This is a 3.7V, 1250mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Telus Mobility smartphone. It replaces OEM part numbers BERR160 and 35H00068-01M. Capacity is rated at 4.63Wh — identical to the original cell specification.
- Telus Mobility platform fit: This cell matches the voltage rail, physical footprint (64.62 x 40.46 x 5.37mm), and connector orientation of the original battery. The BMS handshake between the charge IC and this cell follows the same communication protocol the modem and screen load expect during active use.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the Telus Mobility platform. The BMS held stable across modem-active and screen-on load states, with no unexpected cutoff events during the draw spikes.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — this single cycle lets the coulomb counter map the new cell before high-current charging pushes into an uncalibrated state.
Why the Telus Mobility reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When you install a new cell, that stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage-to-capacity relationship of the replacement. The phone reads voltage, maps it against the old curve, and outputs an incorrect percentage. One full discharge cycle — draining to automatic shutdown and charging to 100% without interruption — forces the IC to relearn the curve against the new cell and restore accurate reporting.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the cell voltage drops below the modem or display's minimum operating threshold under load, even though the reported percentage still looks safe. Li-Polymer cells have a steep voltage cliff near end-of-discharge — under a simultaneous screen and modem draw, voltage can collapse faster than the fuel gauge tracks it. The BMS triggers a protective shutdown before the reported percentage reaches zero. After the fuel gauge IC completes one full calibration cycle, the reported percentage will align more closely with the actual voltage state and the premature shutdowns should stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Telus Mobility won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for months — is the battery dead?
The BMS locks out below approximately 2.5V per cell to prevent damage from deep discharge. A battery stored uncharged for an extended period can drop below that threshold. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power it on. If the BMS recovers, the charge IC will begin a trickle pre-charge cycle back up to a safe voltage before allowing a normal boot.
Fast charging stopped working after I installed the replacement battery — the phone only charges slowly now.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge protocol can fail to negotiate correctly between the charge IC and the new BMS. The phone defaults to standard 5V charging as a fallback. Run one full standard charge to 100%, then discharge and recharge — on the second or third cycle, the charge IC typically re-establishes the high-current handshake and fast charging resumes.
The battery percentage jumps around erratically — it reads 45%, then suddenly shows 71%, then drops again.
Erratic percentage jumps are a fuel gauge IC recalibration artifact. The coulomb counter is still mapping the new cell's discharge curve and has not yet built a stable voltage-to-capacity model. This settles after one or two uninterrupted full discharge-charge cycles. Discharge the phone fully until it shuts off automatically, then charge to 100% in a single session without unplugging early — repeat once more if the jumping persists.
