Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Babysense V24R Video Baby Monitor — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AHB523450)

This 3.7V, 1000mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the OEM part AHB523450 in the Babysense V24R Video Baby Monitor. It powers the handheld parent unit — the portable screen you carry around the house to watch the camera feed. Dimensions are 51.00 x 33.80 x 5.20mm, matching the original cell geometry exactly.

  • V24R parent unit fit: The parent unit runs on a single flat Li-Polymer cell at 3.7V nominal. The AHB523450 shares that voltage rail and connector pinout, so the unit's charging circuit and low-battery indicator function as they did with the original.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the V24R parent unit's charging circuit and confirmed the BMS accepted full charge without tripping cutoff. Voltage at full charge read 4.18V — within spec.
  • Re-pair the wireless link after fitting: The V24R parent unit drops its pairing with the camera unit when it loses power completely. After fitting this battery and powering on, hold the pair button on both units until the camera feed appears — this step is required, not optional.

Parent unit not connecting to camera unit after battery swap

A full power loss — which happens every time the battery is removed — clears the parent unit's stored pairing data on the V24R. The camera unit still broadcasts, but the parent unit no longer knows which signal to lock onto. To restore the link, power on both units, then press and hold the pair button on the camera unit for three seconds until the parent unit screen shows the live feed. If it fails on the first attempt, ensure the battery is charged above 3.8V before trying again — low voltage can prevent the radio from completing the handshake.

Night vision not working after fitting a new battery

The V24R camera unit's infrared LEDs draw a sustained load, and the parent unit's display brightness in low-light mode adds to that draw simultaneously. If the replacement battery ships with a partial charge, the cell voltage can sit below the threshold the IR circuit needs to fire reliably. Charge the parent unit to full before testing night vision — 4.18V at the cell terminals is your target. If the IR image is still grainy or absent after a full charge, check that the night-vision mode toggle in the parent unit menu is set to Auto, not Off.

Frequently Asked Questions

The parent unit screen keeps going dark overnight even with a new battery — is something wrong with it?

Nothing is wrong with the battery. The V24R parent unit screen staying on all night is a sustained high draw that depletes a 1000mAh cell faster than most users expect. Go into the parent unit menu and enable the screen timeout or VOX mode — VOX activates the screen only when the camera detects sound, cutting idle draw significantly. The battery itself is functioning correctly; the drain is a usage setting, not a cell fault.

My V24R parent unit shows a full charge bar but then drops to empty within an hour — why?

This is cell voltage collapse under load, not a faulty charge reading. A Li-Polymer cell that has aged heavily will show 4.1–4.2V at rest but sag below 3.5V the moment the screen and radio draw current, triggering the low-battery cutoff almost immediately. The same behaviour appears with a new cell if it shipped deeply discharged — connect it to the charger for a full 90-minute cycle before judging capacity. If the drop persists after a full charge on the new battery, check that the charging cable is delivering current and not just holding the unit at standby voltage.

The V24R parent unit range dropped after I replaced the battery — it loses the signal in rooms where it worked before.

The V24R's 2.4GHz radio transmit power is voltage-sensitive. If the replacement cell is only partially charged, the radio operates at reduced power and the effective range shrinks noticeably. Charge the parent unit fully — cell voltage at 4.18V — before testing range. If the range is still shorter than expected after a full charge, re-pair the units from the same room first, then walk to the problem area; a fresh pairing at close range gives the radio a clean channel lock before distance is introduced.
