Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Luvion Platinum 2 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (JS803438)
This 3.7V 1000mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the original JS803438 cell in the Luvion Platinum 2 parent unit. The Platinum 2 is the handheld receiver you carry around the house while the camera stays in the nursery. When the original cell loses capacity, this direct swap restores the parent unit to working order.
- Platinum 2 parent unit fit: The JS803438 cell is specific to the Platinum 2 receiver. The compact 39.70 × 33.65 × 7.40mm footprint matches the battery bay exactly. The 3.7V nominal voltage matches what the parent unit's charging circuit and display board expect.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the Platinum 2 charging cycle and confirmed the protection circuit trips correctly on overcharge and over-discharge. The BMS held stable voltage across screen-on, wireless receive, and IR illumination loads simultaneously.
- Re-pair after fitting: After replacing the battery, the parent unit loses its wireless link to the camera unit when it fully powers down. Once charged and powered on, run the pairing sequence from the Platinum 2 setup menu — the camera unit will not appear on screen until the link is re-established.
Why the Platinum 2 parent unit drains overnight with the screen on
Running the Platinum 2 through the night with the screen active is a sustained high draw — the display, wireless receiver, and IR detection all pull current simultaneously. A degraded original cell cannot sustain this load, and the unit shuts off before morning. A fresh 1000mAh cell handles the combined draw, but enabling the screen timeout in the display settings extends charge life significantly. Check the Platinum 2 menu for the auto-screen-off option and set it to the shortest interval you can tolerate.
Night vision not working after battery replacement
The Platinum 2 camera unit uses infrared LEDs that require stable voltage from the camera's own supply — but the parent unit's receiver IR detection circuit also has a minimum voltage threshold. If night vision appears absent immediately after fitting a new parent unit battery, the cell likely needs a full charge before the IR display circuit operates correctly. Plug the parent unit in and charge to 100% before testing night mode. If the camera-side IR LEDs are the issue, that is a camera unit power problem, not the parent unit battery.

Frequently Asked Questions
The parent unit screen came on after fitting the new battery but the camera feed won't show — just a blank or searching screen. What's wrong?
When the parent unit loses power completely during a battery swap, it drops the wireless pairing to the camera unit. The unit powers on fine but has no stored link to reconnect to. Go into the Platinum 2 setup menu on the parent unit and run the pairing sequence with the camera unit powered on in the nursery — once paired, the feed will appear immediately.
The signal range feels much shorter after the battery swap — the feed cuts out one room away. Was it always this weak?
Radio transmission power in the parent unit is voltage-sensitive. A partially charged new cell delivers lower voltage than a full one, which directly reduces wireless range. Charge the parent unit fully before testing range — most buyers who report this find the issue resolves completely once the battery reads 100%. If range is still reduced after a full charge, interference from other 2.4GHz devices in the home is the next thing to check.
The new battery charges for a few minutes and then the charging indicator disappears like it's already full, but the unit dies quickly. What's happening?
This is the protection circuit detecting a fault and terminating the charge cycle early — it usually happens when a deeply discharged Li-Polymer cell is connected to the charger. The BMS interprets very low cell voltage as a fault condition and cuts the charge. Connect the parent unit to the charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without interruption; some BMS circuits require a trickle pre-charge phase before they accept a normal charge cycle. If the unit still reports full but dies quickly, check that the charger output is 5V — an underpowered USB source can trigger the same symptom.
