Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Oricom Secure 700 / SC700 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SC700)

This is a 3.7V 1800mAh Li-ion battery for the Oricom Secure 700 (SC700) baby monitor parent unit. It replaces the original cell when the unit no longer holds a charge or loses power faster than expected. OEM references GL05I, GL06I, GL08I, GL11I, and BPCK930 all cross to this same battery.

  • SC700 parent unit fit: The Secure 700 parent unit uses a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion pack with a small JST-style connector and a basic BMS for overcurrent and overcharge protection. All SC700 variants share this voltage rail and connector pinout, so one replacement covers the full range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the SC700 parent unit's charge circuit and confirmed the BMS accepted the pack without error flags, held charge cutoff at 4.2V, and discharged cleanly down to the low-voltage cutoff without tripping prematurely.
  • Wireless link after battery swap: The SC700 parent unit loses its pairing data when power drops completely. After fitting this battery, give the unit a full charge before powering on — this ensures the radio module initialises at full voltage and reconnects to the camera unit without manual re-pairing in most cases.

Parent unit range reduction after fitting a new battery

The SC700's radio transmitter draws from the same 3.7V cell as the screen and processor. At low state of charge, the radio module reduces output power to stay within safe operating voltage. This makes it look like the new battery is faulty when the actual cause is a partial charge. Charge the parent unit fully before testing range — the transmitter only operates at full output above approximately 3.8V cell voltage.

Night vision not activating after battery replacement

The SC700 camera unit's IR LEDs draw a spike of current at switch-on that the parent unit's display interprets as a voltage drop. If the parent battery is below roughly 3.7V when night vision is first triggered, the BMS can briefly throttle output, causing the IR array to appear dead or flicker. This is not a camera fault. Charge the parent unit to full, then toggle night vision — the LEDs should activate cleanly and hold steady.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Oricom SC700 parent unit won't connect to the camera after I swapped the battery — is it broken?

No. The SC700 parent unit loses its stored pairing link when the battery is fully removed and power drops to zero. Charge the parent unit completely before powering it on — at full charge the radio module initialises correctly and re-establishes the link to the camera unit automatically. If it still won't connect, run the manual pairing sequence from the SC700 setup menu.

The SC700 parent unit screen stays on all night and the new battery is dead by morning — what's drawing that much power?

The SC700 parent unit screen is the single largest draw on the cell during night-time monitoring. With the display on continuously, the 1800mAh cell will not last a full night — this is a usage setting issue, not a battery fault. Go into the parent unit menu and enable the screen timeout or VOX mode so the display only activates on sound. That alone cuts overnight drain significantly.

My SC700 parent unit charges but the battery indicator drops fast as soon as I unplug it — is the new cell faulty?

A fast-dropping indicator in the first few cycles is normal for a new Li-ion cell that has not yet been fully conditioned. Run two or three complete charge-to-discharge cycles through the SC700's own charger before judging capacity. If the indicator still collapses within the first hour of use after three cycles, check that the charging contacts on the parent unit are clean — oxidised contacts cause incomplete charges that register as full at 4.2V but drop quickly under load.
