Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Intermec CN70 / CN75 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (318-043-002)
This 3.7V Li-ion cell at 4000mAh (14.8Wh) replaces the original pack in the Intermec CN70, CN70e, CN75, and CN75E rugged handheld computers. These devices run warehouse and logistics scan operations where a dead battery mid-shift means stalled pick lines. The pack seats directly into the standard battery bay on all four models.
- CN70 / CN70e / CN75 / CN75E platform fit: All four models share the same 3.7V power rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One pack covers the full series — no firmware or connector variation between units.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through combined wireless radio polling and rapid scan trigger events. The BMS held the correct cutoff thresholds throughout and did not trip false low-voltage events under burst scan load.
- First-shift prep for pick-and-pack use: Place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before the first shift. Scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum — starting at full charge prevents false BMS trips during the first heavy pick run.
Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack
A charging error on a new pack almost always comes down to dock contact resistance, not a faulty cell. The CN70 cradle reads pack state through the contact pins — any oxidation or debris on the pack's gold contacts breaks that signal path. Wipe the contacts on both the pack and cradle with a dry cloth, then reseat the scanner firmly until you hear the click. The cradle should show a solid charge indicator within 30 seconds of a clean connection.
Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
When the CN70 fires the imager and transmits scan data simultaneously, the combined radio and scan trigger draw causes a momentary voltage dip. If the cell has degraded capacity, that dip crosses the BMS protection threshold and the radio stack drops. This shows up as repeated disconnects from the access point during high-frequency scanning, even when the battery indicator still reads partial charge. Swap to a fresh 4000mAh pack and confirm the wireless session holds stable across at least 50 consecutive scans before returning the unit to the floor.

Frequently Asked Questions
My CN70 scanner stops reading barcodes right after I put in the new battery — is something wrong with the pack?
Nothing is wrong with the pack. The imager laser or LED needs the cell at a stable voltage to fire at full power, and a new pack shipped at partial state of charge can trigger a low-voltage hesitation on the very first trigger press. Put the scanner in the cradle for a full charge cycle before use — once the cell hits 4.2V, the imager fires at rated intensity and reads consistently.
The CN75E feels warm after a long scanning shift — is that normal?
Some warmth is normal. The CN75E housing traps heat from sustained imager draw plus continuous wireless polling, and both run off the same cell simultaneously. What you should not feel is heat concentrated at the battery bay or a battery that stays hot after the shift ends. If the pack is hot to the touch at rest, check that the cradle contacts are clean and making full connection — a partial contact forces the charger to work harder and generates excess heat in the pack.
This battery doesn't seem to last as long as our old packs did on busy warehouse shifts — what causes that?
Shift endurance drops when scan burst frequency and wireless polling interval both run high at the same time. Each scan trigger pulse draws a short inrush current spike, and a dense pick-and-pack shift with hundreds of scans per hour compounds that across the full cell. Confirm the CN70's radio is set to the correct polling interval for your network — an overly aggressive wireless poll cycle adds constant background draw on top of scan load. If scan frequency is genuinely high, rotating a second pack through the cradle keeps both cells cycling at mid-range state of charge, where Li-ion delivers the most consistent output voltage.
