Intermec CN70 / CN75 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (318-043-002)

This 3.7V Li-ion cell at 4000mAh (14.8Wh) replaces the original pack in the Intermec CN70, CN70e, CN75, and CN75E rugged handheld computers. These devices run warehouse and logistics scan operations where a dead battery mid-shift means stalled pick lines. The pack seats directly into the standard battery bay on all four models.

• CN70 / CN70e / CN75 / CN75E platform fit: All four models share the same 3.7V power rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One pack covers the full series — no firmware or connector variation between units.
• Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through combined wireless radio polling and rapid scan trigger events. The BMS held the correct cutoff thresholds throughout and did not trip false low-voltage events under burst scan load.
• First-shift prep for pick-and-pack use: Place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before the first shift. Scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum — starting at full charge prevents false BMS trips during the first heavy pick run.

A charging error on a new pack almost always comes down to dock contact resistance, not a faulty cell. The CN70 cradle reads pack state through the contact pins — any oxidation or debris on the pack's gold contacts breaks that signal path. Wipe the contacts on both the pack and cradle with a dry cloth, then reseat the scanner firmly until you hear the click. The cradle should show a solid charge indicator within 30 seconds of a clean connection.

When the CN70 fires the imager and transmits scan data simultaneously, the combined radio and scan trigger draw causes a momentary voltage dip. If the cell has degraded capacity, that dip crosses the BMS protection threshold and the radio stack drops. This shows up as repeated disconnects from the access point during high-frequency scanning, even when the battery indicator still reads partial charge. Swap to a fresh 4000mAh pack and confirm the wireless session holds stable across at least 50 consecutive scans before returning the unit to the floor.
