The SF51 cradle reads contact resistance before initiating a charge cycle. If dock contacts on the scanner base or cradle are oxidised or dirty, the charger sees an open circuit and throws a fault rather than charging. Wipe the gold contacts on both the battery end and the cradle dock with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat the scanner firmly. If the error clears, the issue was contact resistance — not the battery or charger.

The SF51 pulls simultaneous current for both the scan engine and the wireless radio during a rapid burst sequence. At low state-of-charge, combined draw can cause a brief voltage sag that trips the BMS or starves the radio, dropping the connection mid-session. This is not a radio fault — it is a battery voltage floor issue. Keep the pack above 3.5V during active shifts by swapping at the first low-battery alert rather than working to cutoff.
