Fits Symbol PDT-3300 and PS200 handheld scanners, replacing OEM part numbers 50-14000-011, 50-14000-059, 58513-00-00, 58514-00-00, and 61783-00-00.
Delivers 6V at 900mAh capacity for sustained warehouse scanning operations without mid-shift power loss.
Connects via the original Symbol slot connector with the same locking tab orientation as factory packs.
We bench-tested this Ni-MH cell on PDT-3300 cradles; the charger detected the new pack within one cycle with no fault codes.
After installing, place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before field use — the scan trigger inrush current peaks when the cell sits near minimum and a pre-charged pack prevents false BMS cutoff on the first shift.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Symbol PDT-3300 / PS200 — 6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (50-14000-011)

This 6V 900mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the original pack in the Symbol PDT-3300 barcode scanner and PS200 terminal. It matches OEM part numbers 50-14000-011, 50-14000-059, 58513-00-00, 58514-00-00, and 61783-00-00. The PDT-3300 is a handheld mobile data terminal used in warehouse pick-and-pack, retail inventory, and point-of-sale scanning workflows.

  • PDT-3300 and PS200 fit: Both devices share the same 6V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. A single cell format serves both terminals without modification or adapter.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-trigger and wireless radio draw sequences on the PDT-3300. The BMS held stable across the combined inrush load without tripping or dropping voltage below the scanner's minimum operating threshold.
  • Cradle charge before first shift: After installing a fresh pack, seat the scanner in its charging cradle and run a full charge cycle before use. The scan trigger inrush current peaks highest when the cell is near minimum charge — a pre-charged cell prevents false BMS trips on the first shift.

Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack

The PDT-3300 cradle reads pack voltage through a set of gold-plated dock contacts on the battery face. Oxidation, dust, or residue on those contacts creates enough resistance to confuse the cradle's charge controller — it reads a bad connection as a fault rather than a new cell. Wipe all contacts on both the battery and the cradle with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat the scanner firmly until the dock clicks. If the error clears, charging will begin at the cradle's standard 6V charge rate.

Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

During a fast scan sequence, the laser or imager and the wireless radio both draw current at the same time. On a degraded or partially charged Ni-MH cell, that combined inrush pulls voltage low enough for the radio module to drop its connection briefly. The scanner may appear fully functional between bursts, which makes this fault easy to misread as a network issue. Charge the pack to full — 6V resting — before the shift, and the combined draw stays within the cell's delivery range.

Frequently Asked Questions

My PDT-3300 scanner stopped reading barcodes right after I put the new battery in — what's wrong?

The laser or imager in the PDT-3300 needs the cell above a minimum voltage before it fires cleanly. A new Ni-MH pack ships in a partial state of charge, and if the scanner's first scan trigger pulls voltage low, the imager drops below its activation threshold. Place the scanner in its cradle and charge fully before attempting any scan work. Once the pack reaches 6V resting voltage, the laser or imager draws without dipping.

The scanner runs warm after a full shift in a warehouse — is something wrong with the battery?

Sustained heat on the PDT-3300 during a long shift is normal. The housing is compact, and simultaneous wireless polling plus repeated scan-trigger draw generates heat that the casing holds. The Ni-MH chemistry also generates moderate heat during both discharge and charge — this is within spec. If the scanner becomes too hot to hold comfortably or shuts down, check that the ventilation slots on the housing are clear and that the pack is not being charged immediately after a full high-frequency scan shift.

The new battery seems to drain faster than the old one did when it was new — what's causing that?

Ni-MH cells arrive partially discharged and need several full charge-discharge cycles before reaching rated capacity. Running the PDT-3300 through three to five complete cradle charges — charging to full, then scanning until the low-battery indicator triggers — conditions the cell and lets it reach its full 900mAh rating. Track shift endurance after cycle five rather than cycle one before drawing any conclusion about capacity.
