Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ZEBEX Z-3190BT / Z-3191BT / Z-3192BT — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 3.7V 2000mAh (7.4Wh) lithium-ion battery fits the ZEBEX Z-3190BT, Z-3191BT, and Z-3192BT wireless barcode scanners. All three models share the same battery bay, connector, and BMS communication protocol, so one pack covers the entire line. Capacity is sourced from the product data — 2000mAh at 3.7V nominal.
- Z-3190BT / Z-3191BT / Z-3192BT platform fit: These three ZEBEX scanners share a common battery form factor, pin layout, and BMS handshake. The voltage rail and physical envelope are identical across the series, so one replacement pack works in all three without any modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-and-transmit bursts on the bench, monitoring the BMS cutoff response during combined laser trigger and Bluetooth radio draw. The protection circuit held stable across the full discharge curve with no premature cutoffs recorded.
- First-shift preparation for pick-and-pack: Before putting this pack into a scanning shift, seat it in the cradle and let it complete a full charge cycle. The scan trigger inrush current spikes highest when the cell is near its minimum state of charge — a fully charged cell avoids false BMS trips at the start of the first shift.
Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack
Charging docks on the Z-3190BT series are contact-sensitive. If the gold pogo pins on the cradle or the contact pads on the battery pack have oxidation or debris, the dock reports a fault rather than beginning a charge cycle. Remove the pack, wipe both contact surfaces with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat the scanner firmly until it clicks. The charging indicator should switch to active within 10 seconds of correct contact.
Scanner dropping wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
During fast back-to-back scanning, the Bluetooth radio and the imager or laser fire almost simultaneously, creating a combined inrush draw that momentarily sags the cell voltage. If the pack is already low, this sag can cross the BMS undervoltage threshold and briefly cut the radio link — the scanner appears to freeze or drops its host pairing. Returning the scanner to the cradle for a partial top-up resets the BMS and restores the voltage headroom needed for sustained burst scanning. Keep the pack above 50% charge during high-frequency pick-and-pack runs to prevent the sag from reaching cutoff.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Z-3190BT scanner isn't reading barcodes after I put in the new battery — laser fires but nothing registers
The imager or laser module needs a minimum voltage threshold to process and decode a scan — if the new pack shipped partially discharged, the cell voltage may be just above the BMS floor but below what the decode engine needs. Place the scanner in the cradle and charge it fully before attempting any scans. Once the pack reaches 4.1–4.2V, the decoder draws full power and reads normally. Don't test it on the bench until the charging indicator shows complete.
The scanner feels warm after a long shift — is that a battery problem or something else?
Sustained scanning combined with continuous Bluetooth polling generates heat inside the sealed housing because both the radio and the scan trigger draw from the same small cell without much thermal mass to absorb it. This is normal behaviour under heavy load, but if the pack is also near the end of a discharge cycle the BMS runs warmer as internal resistance rises with depletion. Let the scanner cool for 10 minutes before reseating it in the cradle — charging a thermally stressed pack pushes the BMS protection circuit harder than needed. If the housing stays warm even when idle, check that the contact pads are clean and the dock is providing a stable charge rather than cycling on and off.
The new battery loses charge faster than expected even on lighter scanning days with fewer scans
Li-ion cells lose capacity faster when routinely stored or operated at a shallow state of charge — if the previous battery trained the user to top up frequently in short bursts, the new pack may be entering a similar shallow-cycle pattern that prevents the BMS from recalibrating its full capacity baseline. Run the pack from a full charge down to the low-battery warning at least twice in the first week to let the BMS establish an accurate capacity reading. After those two full cycles, charge the pack to 100% at the end of each shift rather than topping it up mid-shift every hour.
