Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

This is a 3.7V, 2200mAh (8.14Wh) Li-ion battery pack built to fit the Fey Elektronik PA-LN2. It replaces a degraded or failed original pack and restores full operation to the device. Dimensions are 52.60 × 34.20 × 11.00mm — verify these against your existing pack before ordering.

  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the bench. The BMS held cutoff at the correct thresholds and the pack reached rated capacity after the first full cycle.
  • First-cycle calibration: If your PA-LN2 uses an integrated fuel gauge, run one complete charge-discharge cycle immediately after installation. New cells arrive at storage voltage, and the gauge needs a full cycle to map capacity accurately against the fresh cells.

Pack running below 3.7V on first use

Replacement packs ship at storage voltage — typically around 3.6V or lower — to reduce cell stress during transit. This is normal and not a fault. The device may show a low-battery indicator or behave sluggishly until the pack is fully charged. Charge to 100% before the first use and the voltage will stabilise at the rated 3.7V nominal.

Pack not reaching full charge on the first cycle

On the first charge cycle, the PA-LN2's charge IC may apply a reduced current to new cells as a conditioning step — this can cause the charge cycle to terminate earlier than expected. The pack is not defective. Run a full discharge and then charge again; the charge IC adjusts after the first cycle and the pack will accept the full 2200mAh on subsequent charges.

My PA-LN2 isn't recognising the new battery pack — it powers off immediately after I insert it. What's happening?

The device is likely doing a voltage range check on insertion and rejecting the pack because it arrived at storage voltage, which can fall below the device's minimum acceptance threshold. Charge the pack fully via the OEM charger first, then re-insert it. If the device still rejects it, power cycle the device once with the pack seated. A full charge brings the cell voltage into the range the BMS handshake expects.

The battery feels warm during the first charge — is that a problem with this pack?

Mild warmth during the first charge is normal for a new Li-ion pack going through its initial conditioning cycle. The cells are accepting current from a low storage state, which generates slightly more heat than a routine top-up charge. If the pack becomes hot to the touch or the device's charging indicator cuts out early, stop the charge and let it cool to room temperature before resuming. A conditioning-cycle pack should not exceed warm-to-the-touch.

The capacity indicator on my PA-LN2 is reading incorrectly after swapping the battery — it jumps around or shows full when the pack is nearly flat. How do I fix it?

This happens when the fuel gauge's stored capacity data doesn't match the new cells. The gauge calibrated itself against the old pack and needs to relearn. Run one complete charge to 100%, then discharge the device until it shuts off on its own, then charge back to 100% without interruption. After that single full cycle, the gauge recalibrates and the reading will track accurately against the new 2200mAh pack.
