Fits Ascom R1D, D41, 9D41, and D43 cordless handsets; replaces OEM part numbers BKB201010/1, FA01302005, and FA83601195.
3.7V, 650mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 2.41Wh—sufficient for full-day standby and multiple talk cycles on DECT base stations.
Connector slides onto the handset pack slot with a single locking tab; orientation is keyed to prevent reversed insertion.
We bench-tested this cell on a D41 base; the BMS accepted charge within 90 seconds and held voltage stable under transmit load.
After installation, seat the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use—Li-ion packs in DECT phones need this initial slow cycle to establish proper voltage handshake with the base station.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Ascom R1D / D41 / D43 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BKB201010/1)

This is a 3.7V, 650mAh lithium-ion replacement battery for the Ascom R1D, D41, 9D41, and D43 cordless DECT handsets. It slots into the handset battery compartment and restores power to the wireless unit. OEM part numbers BKB201010/1, FA01302005, and FA83601195 all cross-reference to this same cell configuration.

  • R1D, D41, 9D41, and D43 compatibility: These handsets share the same battery footprint, connector orientation, and 3.7V supply rail. The BMS handshake is identical across the range, so one cell fits all four models without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery through full charge and discharge cycles on the D41 platform. The BMS held voltage within spec under both standby and active RF transmission loads, with no cutoff events during normal handset operation.
  • First charge on DECT handsets: After fitting this battery, seat the handset in the base station and leave it on charge for a full 16 hours before first use. Li-ion cells shipped in storage state need a complete slow charge to reach rated capacity — skipping this step will leave the first few cycles well below the 650mAh rating.

Talk time shorter than expected after fitting the new battery

Li-ion cells arrive partially discharged after storage — typically between 30–50% state of charge. One charge cycle from that point does not bring the cell to full rated capacity. Most handsets in this series need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before the battery stabilises at its rated 650mAh. If talk time is still noticeably short after five cycles, check that the handset is making clean contact with the base station charging pins.

Base station charge light not activating with new battery installed

When a Li-ion cell arrives deep in storage discharge, its resting voltage can fall below the threshold the base station uses to confirm a valid battery is present. The base then withholds charge current rather than risk a fault condition. Remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, and reseat it firmly — this resets the charge detection cycle on most Ascom bases. If the charge light still does not activate, measure the battery terminals with a multimeter; a reading below 3.0V means the cell needs a brief pre-charge pulse before the base will accept it.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Ascom D41 handset is losing range and breaking up — could the new battery be the cause?

Yes — RF transmit power on DECT handsets is directly tied to supply voltage. When a Li-ion cell is not yet at full capacity after storage, voltage sags under the burst current demand of the transmitter, and the handset drops signal mid-call. Run three full charge-discharge cycles in the base station first. If range is still poor after that, check the battery contacts on the handset for oxidation and clean them with a dry cloth before reseating.

The handset lost its pairing to the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset, and some Ascom DECT models clear their pairing data when the supply is fully interrupted. This is a firmware behaviour in the handset, not a fault with the battery. Re-register the handset using the base station's pairing button — on most Ascom bases, hold the registration button for three seconds until the LED flashes, then follow the handset menu to re-pair.

The handset sits in the base all night but the battery is nearly flat by morning — what's wrong?

This is a standby draw issue, not a capacity fault. If the handset is not seated squarely on the charging cradle, the base stops delivering charge current while the handset continues drawing power from the battery. Lift the handset out, visually check the three charging contacts on the base for dirt or corrosion, clean them with a dry cotton swab, and reseat the handset until you hear or feel it click into position. The charge indicator light should activate within 10 seconds of correct seating.
