Fits GP cordless DECT handsets requiring 30AAM3BMX battery pack replacement.
3.6V and 300mAh capacity delivers standard talk time for single-handset systems without extended range demand.
AAM connector slides into handset bay; locking tab seats flush against the housing wall.
We ran charge cycles on a DECT base platform — BMS accepted voltage handshake on cycle one, no fault delay observed.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GP 30AAM3BMX — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V 300mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for GP part number 30AAM3BMX. It fits cordless DECT phone handsets that use this compact three-cell pack. When the original battery no longer holds a charge, this pack restores full handset operation.

  • DECT handset compatibility: Cordless phones using the 30AAM3BMX share a common 3.6V three-cell Ni-MH architecture. The BMS in most DECT handsets accepts this voltage range without a firmware handshake, so the physical connector and cell count are the critical matching factors.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a DECT handset platform. The BMS accepted the pack cleanly on first insertion, and voltage held steady across the RF transmit bursts without triggering low-voltage cutoff.
  • First charge after installation: Place the handset in the base station for a full 16-hour charge before first use. Ni-MH cells that have been in storage ship at a partial state of charge, and the slow overnight charge lets them reach rated 300mAh capacity. Skipping this step will leave talk time noticeably short for the first several uses.

Base station showing no charge light on a new Ni-MH pack

Ni-MH batteries lose voltage during storage. If the pack sits in a warehouse for several months, cell voltage can drop below the threshold the base station uses to detect a valid battery. Most DECT bases require the pack to present at least 3.0V before the charge circuit activates. Seat the handset in the base, wait 30 minutes, then remove and reinsert it — this brief trickle often lifts the pack above the detection threshold. If the charge light still does not appear, confirm cell voltage with a multimeter across the battery terminals; a reading above 3.0V means the base circuit should engage on the next insertion.

Range drops noticeably after battery replacement

Reduced range after a battery swap is almost always a voltage sag issue, not a hardware fault. When a fresh Ni-MH pack is not fully conditioned, its internal resistance is higher than a broken-in cell, and voltage dips under the RF transmit load. That dip causes the handset's transmit power to pull back, shrinking the effective range. Run three to five full charge and discharge cycles through normal use, and range will stabilise as internal resistance falls. After five cycles, resting voltage should sit at approximately 4.1–4.2V on a full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is talk time so short right after I put in the new battery?

Ni-MH cells leave storage at a partial state of charge and need three to five full cycles before they reach rated 300mAh capacity. The first cycle will feel noticeably short — that is normal, not a fault with the battery. Run the handset until it prompts you to charge, then do a full 16-hour charge in the base each time. By cycle five, talk time should stabilise at the rated level.

My handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — why?

Some DECT phones store pairing data in volatile memory that clears when power is fully removed. Swapping the battery cuts all power to the handset, which is enough to wipe the link. Re-register the handset using the base station's paging or registration button — the exact step is in your phone's manual, but on most DECT systems it takes under two minutes and restores the connection immediately.

The battery drains completely overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — what causes that?

This is a seating issue, not a battery fault. If the handset is not fully clicked into the charging cradle, the charge contacts do not make a clean connection and the standby draw slowly empties the pack. Check that the handset sits flush in the base and that the charge indicator light is on. If the light is on but the battery still drains by morning, clean the metal charge contacts on both the handset and the base with a dry cloth to remove oxidation.
