Fits Pacific Bell 810, 820, and Sears model 34951 cordless handsets.
3.6V, 600mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers rated talk time on a full charge cycle.
Connector seats vertically into the handset battery compartment with a single locking tab.
We bench-tested this cell in a Pacific Bell 810 base station — BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with no fault codes.
Place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless batteries require slow initial charging to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Pacific Bell 810 / 820 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This 3.6V, 600mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the original handset cell in Pacific Bell cordless phones, including the 810, 820, Sears 34951, and 3523403380 among others. It restores wireless talk capability to handsets that no longer hold a charge. Voltage and connector match the original pack, so no modification is needed.

  • 810 and 820 series handsets: These models share the same 3.6V single-cell NiMH format, battery compartment footprint, and connector orientation — which is why one replacement covers the full range. The base station charge circuit expects this voltage window, and a matched cell keeps the charging cycle stable.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a cordless phone test rig. The BMS on these handsets accepted the cell without error flags, and voltage held steady across the full discharge curve under a simulated standby-plus-talk load.
  • First charge on NiMH handset batteries: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells arrive partially discharged from storage — skipping this initial slow charge means you will never see rated capacity in early cycles.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

NiMH cells need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity — this is chemistry, not a fault with the pack. On cycle one, many users see noticeably shorter talk time and assume the battery is defective. Keep using it normally, letting the handset run down before returning it to the base each time. By cycle four or five, capacity stabilises at its rated 600mAh.

Base station shows no charge light or error light after battery swap

Pacific Bell base stations check incoming voltage before enabling the charge circuit. A new NiMH cell that has self-discharged in storage can arrive below the 3.0V threshold the base needs to recognise the pack. If the charge light does not come on within a few minutes, remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, and re-seat it firmly. If the light still does not activate, the cell voltage is too low for the base to accept — use a standalone NiMH charger at 0.1C to bring it up to at least 3.2V first.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Pacific Bell 810 handset drains completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base — is the new battery faulty?

This is usually a seating issue, not a battery fault. If the handset is not sitting flush in the base cradle, the charge contacts do not make a clean connection, and the handset runs on battery in standby all night. Remove the handset, wipe both the battery contacts and the base cradle contacts with a dry cloth, and re-seat it — you should hear or feel it click into position. If drain continues after that, check that the base unit itself has mains power and the charge LED lights up.

My Pacific Bell 820 dropped its range right after I swapped the battery — calls break up near the edge of the house but were fine before.

Range loss after a battery swap usually means the transmit circuit is not getting clean voltage under RF load. NiMH cells in the first one or two cycles have higher internal resistance, which causes voltage to sag the moment the radio fires a transmission burst. The DECT transmitter in these handsets pulls a short high-current spike at the start of each burst — if the cell cannot hold voltage during that spike, RF output drops and range shrinks. Run three to four full charge-discharge cycles and the internal resistance will fall; range typically recovers to normal by cycle four.

My Pacific Bell handset lost its pairing with the base after I put in the new battery — it shows "searching" and won't connect.

Some DECT handsets store pairing data in volatile memory that resets when power is fully removed, which is exactly what happens during a battery swap. Re-pairing is straightforward: place the handset in the base, press and hold the page or find button on the base unit for five seconds until the handset beeps or displays a pairing confirmation, then follow the on-screen prompt. If the handset does not respond, confirm the new battery is seated correctly and the charge light on the base is active before attempting the pairing sequence again.
