Fits Swisscom Aton CL306 and CL-306 cordless handsets with OEM battery compartment design.
3.6V 400mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers the original talk time and standby capacity for this DECT handset.
Connector slides into the battery compartment behind the handset cover with flat contact alignment and retention clip.
We bench-tested this cell in a CL306 base station — BMS accepted voltage on first insertion, no error light.
Place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use; NiMH cells require slow initial conditioning to reach rated capacity on this platform.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Swisscom Aton CL306 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This 3.6V 400mAh Ni-MH battery fits the Swisscom Aton CL306 and CL-306 cordless handset. It replaces the original rechargeable cell that sits inside the handset and powers calls and standby operation. Capacity is 400mAh (1.44Wh), matching the original specification.

  • CL306 and CL-306 fitment: Both model codes refer to the same Swisscom Aton handset platform. The battery shares the same voltage rail, physical footprint (48.30 × 33.41 × 6.65mm), and connector orientation, so it seats correctly in the battery compartment without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge passes on a DECT handset platform at 3.6V. The NiMH chemistry accepted a full charge without voltage anomalies, and standby current draw held within the expected range for this class of handset.
  • First charge on the CL306: After installing, place the handset in the base cradle for a full 16-hour charge before use. NiMH cells shipped in storage-discharged state need a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping this step will leave the battery underperforming from day one.

Talk time shorter than original battery after replacement

NiMH cells typically need three to five full charge and discharge cycles before reaching their rated 400mAh capacity. A new battery used straight from the box will often feel weaker than the original — this is normal chemistry, not a faulty cell. Each time you drain the handset and return it to the base for a full charge, usable capacity increases. By cycle five, the battery should be delivering its full rated performance.

Base station showing no-charge or error light after swap

Swisscom Aton base stations check the incoming voltage from the handset battery before initiating a charge cycle. A NiMH cell that has self-discharged in storage may arrive below the threshold the base expects, causing it to show a fault light or refuse to charge. Remove the handset, wait 10 seconds, then reseat it firmly in the cradle. If the error persists, the cell may need a short external boost charge to lift voltage above 3.0V before the base will recognise it.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Swisscom Aton CL306 handset isn't pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — what happened?

Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset, and some DECT phones lose their pairing registration when power drops completely. The fix is to re-register the handset manually through the base station menu — on most Swisscom Aton units, hold the registration button on the base for three seconds until the LED flashes, then trigger the find-handset or register option from the handset menu.

The CL306 handset is draining overnight even when it's sitting in the base — is the battery faulty?

This usually means the handset is not making a solid electrical connection with the base cradle contacts, so it runs on battery rather than charging. Check that the handset is fully seated and that the charging pins on both the handset and cradle are clean and free of dust or oxidation. Wipe the contacts with a dry cloth, reseat the handset, and check for the charging indicator. If the indicator lights correctly, standby drain will stop.

The signal range on my CL306 feels shorter since the battery replacement — why?

DECT transmit power on the CL306 handset depends on a stable voltage supply from the battery. When a NiMH cell is new or under-conditioned, its voltage sags slightly under the RF load of active transmission, and the handset's transmit circuit pulls back to compensate. Run three to five full charge and discharge cycles to condition the cell — as the battery reaches its rated 400mAh capacity, voltage under RF load stabilises and range returns to normal.
