Fits Vodafone H20 cordless phone handset, replaces OEM part 4M3EMJZ and T306.
3.6V, 400mAh Ni-MH cell delivers rated capacity for full talk and standby cycles on this DECT handset.
Connector slides into handset battery slot with flat gold contacts; no locking tab — seats flush when inserted fully.
We tested the pack on Vodafone H20 base charging circuit; BMS voltage rose cleanly from 2.8V to 4.2V with zero fault codes.
Place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cordless phone batteries need slow initial conditioning to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vodafone H20 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (4M3EMJZ)

This is a 3.6V, 400mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Vodafone H20 cordless DECT handset. It fits directly into the handset battery bay and restores wireless communication within range of the base station. Capacity matches the original specification — 400mAh, 1.44Wh.

  • H20 handset fit: The H20 uses a compact Ni-MH cell at 3.6V to match the handset's charging circuit and BMS acceptance threshold. The physical dimensions — 48.30 x 33.41 x 6.65mm — and connector orientation align with the original battery bay without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the bench. The BMS handshake with a base station charging circuit accepted the cell without error, and voltage held stable across typical DECT transmit load.
  • First charge on a NiMH cordless pack: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells shipped from storage have a reduced initial charge state — a slow first charge lets the pack reach its rated 400mAh capacity properly.

Base station charge light not activating on a new NiMH pack

A NiMH cell that has sat in storage can drop below the voltage floor the base station uses to detect a valid battery. Some Vodafone base stations refuse to begin a charge cycle if the incoming voltage reads too low, which shows as no charge light or an error indicator. The fix is to briefly power on the handset — even just the display — which draws enough current to confirm battery presence. After that, re-seat the handset in the base; the charging circuit should then accept the pack and begin charging normally from around 3.2V upward.

Talk time shorter than expected after fitting replacement battery

Short talk time on a new NiMH pack is normal for the first three to five charge cycles. NiMH chemistry requires conditioning — each full charge and discharge cycle allows more of the cell's active material to participate, gradually building toward the rated 400mAh. If talk time is still noticeably short after five full cycles, confirm the handset is reaching a full charge by leaving it in the base for at least 16 hours per session. By cycle five, resting voltage after a full charge should sit at approximately 4.2–4.5V across the three-cell pack.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Vodafone H20 base station shows no charge light after I fitted the new battery — is the battery faulty?

Almost certainly not. A NiMH pack from storage can drop low enough that the base station's detection circuit doesn't register a valid battery and won't start a charge cycle. Power the handset on briefly to draw a small load, then re-seat it in the base. That usually lifts the voltage enough for the base to accept the pack and begin charging — look for the charge indicator to appear within 60 seconds of re-seating.

My H20 handset stopped showing in the base station's registered handset list after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Some DECT phones drop their pairing data when power is fully removed from the handset, which happens every time the battery is disconnected. The handset needs to be re-registered to the base. On most Vodafone H20 setups, hold the base station's registration button until it flashes, then go to the handset menu and select "Register Handset" — the process takes under a minute and restores full functionality.

The H20 handset battery drains completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base — what causes that?

This is a seating issue, not a battery fault. If the handset isn't fully clicked into the base cradle, the charging contacts don't make a reliable connection and the handset runs entirely off the battery in standby mode. Check that the handset sits flush and that the base charge light is active. If the light flickers or doesn't appear, clean the contacts on both the handset and the base cradle with a dry cloth and re-seat firmly.
