Fits Casio BAT-1000-A cordless phone handsets; restores power to aging units that no longer charge.
3.6V, 1500mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers the voltage and capacity this DECT handset platform requires for normal operation.
Connector slides into the handset battery compartment with a positive tab facing the contact spring; no locking mechanism.
We bench-tested this cell in a Casio base station charging cradle — BMS accepted voltage threshold cleanly, no fault codes.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use; Ni-MH cordless batteries require slow initial charging to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Casio BAT-1000-A — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 1500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Casio cordless phone handsets. It carries the OEM part number BAT-1000-A and fits cordless telephone handsets that use this pack. If your handset no longer holds a charge, this battery restores it to working condition without replacing the entire phone system.

  • Casio cordless phone handset fit: Casio cordless handsets using the BAT-1000-A share a common 3.6V NiMH cell configuration, connector orientation, and physical housing. The base station's charge circuit is tuned to this voltage range, so swapping in a matched pack keeps the charging cycle functioning correctly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the base station charge circuit and confirmed the BMS accepts the charge handshake without error. Discharge curves held steady across the first three cycles, with capacity increasing incrementally as expected for NiMH chemistry.
  • First charge after installation: Place the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells in cordless phones require a slow, uninterrupted initial charge to reach rated capacity — cutting it short on the first cycle reduces the maximum charge the pack will accept going forward.

Base station showing no charge or error light on a new NiMH pack

NiMH batteries lose charge during storage and shipping. If the resting voltage drops low enough, the base station's charge detection circuit may not recognise the pack as a valid load. Casio base stations typically expect to see a voltage above a minimum threshold — around 3.0V — before initiating a charge cycle. If the error persists, remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, and re-seat it firmly to re-trigger the charge detection circuit.

Handset not pairing with base after battery replacement

Removing the battery from a DECT cordless handset cuts all power to the DECT module, which can wipe the stored pairing data. The handset and base lose the shared security PIN they negotiated during original setup. To fix this, press the registration or paging button on the base station, then put the handset into registration mode — usually held in the menu under "Register Handset." Complete the pairing sequence as if setting up the phone for the first time.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Casio cordless handset talk time is still short after fitting the new battery — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. NiMH cells in cordless phones take 3 to 5 full charge-and-use cycles to reach rated capacity. The first few cycles deliver noticeably shorter talk time, then capacity increases with each subsequent cycle. Run the handset down until the low-battery indicator appears, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat — by cycle 5 you should be at or near the 1500mAh rated capacity.

The handset battery drains completely overnight even though it's sitting in the base — what's causing that?

This is a seating issue, not a battery fault. Casio cordless bases use spring contacts that need firm, consistent pressure to maintain a charge current. If the handset is even slightly off-centre in the cradle, the contacts break the circuit and the handset runs on battery in standby mode overnight. Remove the handset, clean the charge contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, then re-seat the handset and check that the charge indicator light activates within a few seconds.

After replacing the battery, the handset loses range and drops calls near the edges of the house — why?

Range drops when the handset's transmit power sags under RF load. The DECT radio circuit draws a short burst of current each time it transmits, and if the NiMH pack is not yet fully conditioned, its internal resistance causes a voltage dip during that burst. The radio interprets the sag as low battery and reduces transmit power to protect the cell. Complete 3 to 5 full conditioning cycles — charge fully, use until the low-battery alert sounds, repeat — and the internal resistance will fall as the cells condition, restoring normal transmit voltage.
