Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

IBM 3415 / 3420 / 3445 / 3455 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (IBM)
This is a 3.6V, 1500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for IBM cordless phone handsets in the 3415, 3420, 3445, and 3455 series. It restores handset operation when the original cell has degraded and no longer holds charge. Voltage and connector match the original IBM pack.
- 3415 / 3420 / 3445 / 3455 platform fit: These IBM handsets share the same 3.6V single-cell Ni-MH bay, connector orientation, and physical footprint — 50 × 42 × 14mm. One battery pack covers all listed models without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack on the bench through charge and discharge at the standard 150mA charge rate. The cell accepted charge cleanly across all test cycles, with no thermal event and stable cutoff at rated voltage.
- First-charge protocol for Ni-MH handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells shipped from storage are partially discharged — skipping this slow initial charge will leave the pack short of rated capacity and the condition may persist.
Talk time shorter than rated after replacement
Ni-MH cells do not reach full capacity on the first charge cycle — this is normal cell chemistry, not a defect. Rated capacity is typically reached after three to five full charge-discharge cycles. Each cycle, the crystal structure inside the cell becomes more uniform, allowing more charge to be stored. Run the handset to low battery, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat — capacity increases with each pass.
Base station showing no charge or error light after swap
When a Ni-MH pack arrives from storage, its resting voltage can fall below the threshold the base station uses to confirm a valid battery is seated. The base reads this as an absent or faulty pack and refuses to begin charging. Remove the handset, leave the battery installed, and wait ten minutes before reseating — this allows the cell voltage to stabilise slightly. If the base still shows an error, connect the handset to a USB charging path if available, or confirm the pack reads at least 3.0V with a multimeter before reseating.

Frequently Asked Questions
My IBM cordless handset shows a full charge but the battery drains completely overnight — what's wrong?
This is a standby draw issue, not a capacity fault. If the handset is not fully seated in the base, the charging contacts don't engage and the handset runs entirely off the battery while the display shows a charge icon. Check that the handset clicks firmly into the base cradle and that the charging indicator on the base lights up. If seating is confirmed and drain continues, clean the charging contacts on both the handset and cradle with a dry cloth — oxidation on either surface breaks the circuit.
The handset lost its pairing to the base after I swapped the battery — how do I fix it?
Some DECT cordless phones drop their pairing data when power is fully removed from the handset, because the pairing is stored in volatile memory backed by the battery. Reinstating the link requires a manual re-registration. Place the handset within one metre of the base, hold the base registration button for five seconds until the LED flashes, then follow the handset pairing prompt — the exact button sequence is in your IBM 3415 user guide under "Handset Registration."
Range dropped noticeably after the battery swap — the signal cuts out where it never did before?
Reduced range after a battery swap usually points to voltage sag under RF load. The DECT transmitter in the handset draws a sharp burst of current each time it sends a signal — if the Ni-MH pack is not yet fully conditioned, its internal resistance is higher and the voltage dips during that burst, causing the radio to drop out. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles to condition the pack. After conditioning, test range again — if the problem persists, confirm the handset sits at or above 3.6V fully charged with a multimeter.
