Fits Memorex MSP-PH2400 cordless phone handsets; replaces OEM battery MSP-PH2400.
3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers standard talk time for DECT handsets; voltage matches base station acceptance threshold.
Connector slides into handset battery slot vertically; no locking tab — ensure full seating to complete charging circuit.
We bench-tested this cell in an MSP-PH2400 handset paired to a base station; BMS accepted charge within 2 hours and held voltage steady under transmit load.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Memorex MSP-PH2400 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Memorex MSP-PH2400 cordless phone handset. It slots into the handset battery compartment and restores wireless operation when the original pack can no longer hold a charge. Dimensions are 45.60 x 31.30 x 10.60mm — confirm these against your existing battery before ordering.

  • MSP-PH2400 handset fit: The MSP-PH2400 runs a standard 3.6V three-cell Ni-MH configuration. This battery matches that voltage rail and physical footprint, so the handset BMS accepts the pack without a fault state on the base station.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the battery through charge and discharge cycles on a DECT handset platform. The BMS accepted charge from a 3.6V base station charger without triggering an error light, and voltage held steady through the RF transmit window.
  • First charge on NiMH cordless handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cordless phone batteries arrive partially discharged from storage — a slow first charge is what brings them to rated capacity.

Base station showing a charging error after fitting the new pack

DECT base stations check incoming battery voltage before enabling the charge circuit. A new Ni-MH pack that has sat in storage can drop below the base's acceptance threshold — typically around 3.0V. When that happens, the base sees the voltage as a fault rather than a dischargeable battery and throws an error light. Place the handset in the base anyway and leave it for several hours; most bases will eventually recover the pack once voltage climbs above the acceptance floor.

Talk time shorter than expected for the first few uses

Ni-MH cells do not deliver rated capacity straight out of the box. The electrochemical structure needs three to five full charge-discharge cycles before it reaches the 700mAh figure. Using the handset until it signals low battery, then returning it to the base for a full charge each time, is what conditions the pack. After five cycles, talk time stabilises at the rated level.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Memorex MSP-PH2400 handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Some DECT phones drop their pairing data when power is fully removed from the handset, because pairing is stored in volatile memory backed by the battery. Reinserting a fresh battery does not automatically restore the link — the handset boots as if new. Re-register the handset through the base station's handset registration menu, usually accessed by holding the page or find button on the base for five seconds until it enters pairing mode.

The handset is draining completely overnight even though it's sitting in the base — what's wrong?

This is a seating issue, not a battery fault. The MSP-PH2400 base charges through contact pins on the bottom of the handset, and if the handset is slightly off-centre, those pins don't make a clean connection. Lift the handset out, check the pins on both the handset and base for debris or oxidation, then reseat it firmly until you hear or feel it click into position. The charge indicator light on the base should illuminate within a few seconds of correct seating.

Why does the range on my MSP-PH2400 drop noticeably when the battery gets low?

DECT transmit power is tied directly to supply voltage. As a Ni-MH pack discharges, its terminal voltage sags, and the handset's RF circuitry can no longer sustain full transmit output — range contracts as a result. This is more pronounced with a new pack before it has been conditioned, because an unconditioned cell sags earlier in the discharge curve. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles to reduce early voltage sag and recover transmit range.
