Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

IMET WAVE2 / M880 RAY Crane Remote — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AS087)
This is a 3.7V, 1800mAh Li-ion battery for IMET crane remote transmitters. It fits the WAVE2, WAVE2 S6, WAVE2 L10, and M880 RAY platforms. Swap it in when the original cell can no longer hold charge through a full shift.
- WAVE2 and M880 RAY transmitter family: These remotes share the same battery bay geometry, connector orientation, and 3.7V nominal rail. The AS087 cell fits all listed transmitter variants without modification to the housing or contacts.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled the cell through charge and discharge on the bench, confirming the BMS holds cutoff correctly at low voltage and accepts a full charge without flagging a fault on the transmitter display.
- Monthly charge during idle storage: Crane remotes often sit unused for weeks between jobs. Keep this cell above 3.0V by charging it once a month during any idle period — Li-ion cells that drop below 2.5V can trigger BMS lockout and will not recover even when a charger is connected.
Solenoid activation causing power dropout on a freshly installed battery
When a solenoid or relay fires, it draws a short inrush current spike that can exceed the BMS discharge threshold on a cell that is not at full charge. The BMS interprets that spike as an overcurrent event and cuts the output rail momentarily. This causes the remote to drop out or reset mid-command, which is dangerous on a live crane. Charge the new cell fully to 4.2V before putting the remote into service — a cell sitting at storage voltage around 3.7V does not have enough headroom to absorb that inrush without tripping the BMS.
Remote showing low-battery warning immediately after new cell install
Li-ion cells ship at storage voltage, typically 3.6–3.7V, not at full charge. The WAVE2 transmitter reads cell voltage directly and flags anything below its low-battery threshold as a warning. This is not a fault with the cell — it is a storage state, not a depleted state. Connect the charger before first use and run the cell up to 4.2V; the warning will clear once the transmitter sees nominal operating voltage.

Frequently Asked Questions
My IMET WAVE2 remote won't power on at all after sitting in the van for two months — is the battery dead?
Most likely the cell discharged below 2.5V during storage and the BMS has entered lockout — it will not respond to a normal power button press. Connect the transmitter to its charger and leave it for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on; a trickle charge at this stage is what the BMS needs to re-initialise. If the charger LED shows no activity after 30 minutes, the original cell is unrecoverable and needs replacing. The replacement AS087 cell will behave the same way if stored uncharged, so charge it monthly during any idle period.
The crane remote cuts out every time I activate a hoist movement, then comes back a second later — what's causing that?
That dropout pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip caused by the inrush current spike when the hoist solenoid fires. The BMS sees the spike, cuts the output rail, then resets — which is why the remote recovers after a second. It happens most often when the battery is not at a full charge, because a partially charged cell has less voltage headroom before the BMS threshold trips. Charge the battery fully to 4.2V before use and retest; if dropouts continue on a fully charged cell, the cell's internal resistance may be too high and replacement is needed.
E-stop response on the WAVE2 feels slower than it used to — could the battery be causing that?
Yes. E-stop signal transmission is voltage-dependent, and a degraded cell with elevated internal resistance sags under load, dropping the transmitter's operating voltage mid-transmission. At reduced voltage the radio output power falls and signal latency increases. Check the cell's resting voltage with a multimeter — a healthy 1800mAh Li-ion should read 4.1–4.2V after a full charge. If it reads below 3.8V within minutes of coming off the charger, the cell has lost capacity and needs replacing before the remote is used in any safety-critical lift.
