Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Amazon Kindle 11th Generation 2022 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AMZHCF5)

This 3.85V, 1000mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Amazon Kindle 11th Generation (2022), model C2V2L3. It fits the e-ink e-reader used for reading digital books and documents. Capacity matches the OEM spec at 3.85Wh.

  • Kindle 11th Gen (C2V2L3) fitment: The C2V2L3 uses a flat Li-Polymer cell at 3.85V with a low-current BMS matched to e-ink display draw. The connector pinout and physical dimensions — 67.20 x 62.70 x 2.00mm — match the OEM bay directly. No modification needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Kindle 11th Gen platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and the firmware read voltage correctly across the full charge range.
  • First-use charge cycle after swap: Charge via USB-C for a full cycle immediately after installing this cell. The Kindle firmware recalibrates battery percentage display against the new cell during that first complete charge — skipping it causes inaccurate readings for several days.

Why the Kindle 11th Gen shows low battery immediately after a new cell

Replacement cells ship at storage voltage — typically around 3.6–3.7V — not full charge. The Kindle firmware compares resting voltage to an internal table and flags anything below its threshold as low battery. This is not a fault with the cell. Connect the USB-C cable straight away and charge to 100% before powering on for normal use.

Battery percentage jumping or reading 0% after swap

After a cell replacement, the Kindle's fuel gauge IC has no prior charge history for the new cell and starts estimating from scratch. This causes percentage jumps — sometimes from 80% to 20% mid-session — until calibration completes. Run the battery from full charge down to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. One full cycle is usually enough to stabilise the reading.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Kindle 11th Gen won't turn on at all after I swapped the battery — what's wrong?

The replacement cell likely shipped below the minimum boot voltage the Kindle needs to start. Connect the USB-C charger and leave it for at least 10 minutes before pressing the power button. The screen may stay blank during that window — that's normal. Once the cell reaches approximately 3.7V, the device should power on.

WiFi is draining the new battery much faster than I expected — is the cell faulty?

The cell is not faulty. WiFi draw on the Kindle 11th Gen is significantly higher than e-ink page-turn draw alone — syncing a large library or downloading books can pull several times the current that reading uses. If battery life drops noticeably, switch to Airplane Mode during reading sessions and only enable WiFi to sync. That single change has the biggest impact on charge between sessions.

Page turns feel slower after I put in the new battery — does voltage affect e-ink refresh speed?

Yes, directly. E-ink displays need a specific voltage to drive the electrophoretic particles through a full refresh. If the cell voltage sags during a page turn — common in a partially charged or freshly installed cell — the controller slows the refresh cycle to compensate. Charge the battery fully to 100% before testing response speed. If slow turns persist after a full charge, run one complete discharge-to-shutdown and recharge cycle to let the firmware calibrate current delivery.
