Fits Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 11th generation, 2021 model; replaces OEM part 26S1027, 26S1027-A, 58-000426.
This 3.83V, 1650mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers 6.32Wh to power the e-ink display and processor through weeks of reading on a single charge.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a single locking tab; no adhesive strips or proprietary connectors required for installation.
We bench tested this cell on the M2L3EK motherboard; BMS activated normally on first connection, voltage holding steady through a full discharge cycle without early cutoff.
After installing, charge via USB-C for one complete cycle before reading — Kindle firmware recalibrates battery percentage reporting after a cell swap and needs a full charge to sync correctly.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 11th Generation — 3.83V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (26S1027)

This 3.83V, 1650mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Kindle Paperwhite 11th Generation (2021), covering models M2L3EK and M2L4EK. It matches OEM part numbers 26S1027, 26S1027-A, and 58-000426. Use it when the original cell no longer holds a charge or the device fails to power on.

  • M2L3EK and M2L4EK compatibility: Both model variants share the same battery connector layout, cell dimensions (79.60 × 60.40 × 2.50mm), and 3.83V supply rail. The BMS circuitry in both reads from the same cell chemistry, so one replacement cell covers the full Paperwhite 11th lineup.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Kindle Paperwhite 11th unit. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, voltage held steady under e-ink page refresh loads, and the firmware reported charge state correctly after a full calibration cycle.
  • Post-swap charge cycle: After installing, charge via USB-C for a full cycle before use. The Paperwhite firmware recalibrates its battery percentage display to a new cell only after it reads a complete charge from 0% to 100%. Skipping this step causes the indicator to report inaccurate percentages for several days.

Why the Kindle Paperwhite 11th won't boot after a battery swap

Replacement cells ship at storage voltage — typically around 3.6V — which sits below the Paperwhite's minimum boot threshold. The firmware will not attempt to start the OS if it reads insufficient voltage at startup. Connecting the USB-C charger and leaving it for 10 minutes before pressing the power button gives the cell enough charge to cross that threshold. If the screen still shows nothing after 10 minutes, leave it connected for 30 more — do not repeatedly press the power button during this window.

Battery percentage jumping around after replacing the cell

The Paperwhite's fuel gauge algorithm builds a model of the cell's charge curve over its first few cycles. A new cell has a different internal resistance profile from the worn cell the firmware was tracking, so percentage readings will jump — sometimes 20% or more — during the first two to three charge cycles. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Run two or three full charge and discharge cycles and the firmware recalibrates. After that, readings stabilise to within a few percent of actual state of charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Kindle Paperwhite shows a low battery warning immediately after I put in the new cell — is the replacement faulty?

It is not faulty. Replacement Li-Polymer cells ship at a reduced storage voltage, often around 3.6V, which the Paperwhite firmware reads as critically low. Plug in the USB-C cable and charge fully to 100% before drawing any conclusions. Once the cell reaches full charge, the warning clears and the fuel gauge recalibrates to the new cell.

Page turns are sluggish and the e-ink screen takes longer to refresh after the battery swap — what's causing it?

E-ink displays draw a short burst of higher current during each page refresh. If the cell voltage is still low from storage, it sags during that refresh pulse, which slows the waveform controller and extends the refresh time. Charge the device fully first — once the cell holds a stable charge above 3.9V under load, page turn response returns to normal speed. If sluggishness continues after two full charge cycles, check that the battery connector is fully seated.

WiFi is draining the new battery much faster than I expected — is something wrong with the cell?

Nothing is wrong. WiFi draw on the Paperwhite is significantly higher than the current the e-ink display uses during reading-only mode. A single extended sync session or leaving WiFi on continuously will deplete the cell several times faster than reading with WiFi off. Switch WiFi to "off" in settings between syncs and only enable it when downloading new books. If battery drain is still abnormally fast with WiFi disabled, confirm the cell connector is fully latched and run a full charge cycle to let the firmware build an accurate capacity model.
