Fits Blumax Bluetooth GPS-4013 and GPS-4044 portable navigation units, replacing the OEM 3.7V lithium-ion cell.
Delivers 3.7V at 1000mAh capacity—sufficient for 4–6 hours active satellite navigation on a single charge cycle.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with no physical modification; locking tab seats flush against the device housing.
We bench-tested this cell on a GPS-4013 simulator; the BMS accepted voltage input without fault codes and held regulation across discharge sweeps.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before use—GPS performs a cold start after power interruption that takes 5–10 minutes for first fix versus under a minute for subsequent warm starts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Blumax Bluetooth GPS-4013 / GPS-4044 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V, 1000mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Blumax Bluetooth GPS-4013 and GPS-4044 portable GPS navigators. Both units share the same battery bay dimensions (52.96 x 33.64 x 5.15mm) and voltage rail, so one cell covers both models. Capacity matches the stock specification from Blumax — no inflation, no guesswork.

  • GPS-4013 and GPS-4044 compatibility: Both models run the same 3.7V single-cell architecture with an identical battery footprint. The connector orientation and BMS charge profile are the same across both units, so the cell seats and communicates correctly in either device without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on GPS-class hardware. The BMS held the cutoff voltage correctly, accepted a full charge without thermal event, and delivered stable output across the discharge curve without unexpected sag at low state of charge.
  • Cold-start tip after fitting: After installing this cell, take the GPS outdoors and power it on with a clear view of the sky. A full power interruption wipes the ephemeris data, triggering a cold start — expect the first satellite fix to take 5–10 minutes. Subsequent warm starts drop to under a minute once the almanac rebuilds.

GPS-4013 Shutting Off Without Warning at Low Battery

After a battery swap, the on-screen charge indicator may not accurately reflect the actual cell state of charge until the device completes at least one full charge-discharge cycle. The GPS-4013's voltage threshold for the low-battery warning can read optimistic against a new cell, so the unit hits its cutoff voltage before any visual alert fires. Run one full discharge to empty and charge to 100% to let the firmware recalibrate the indicator. After that cycle, the low-battery warning should appear at the correct threshold — typically around 3.5V on the cell.

Saved Routes Missing After Battery Replacement

Some GPS-4013 and GPS-4044 units store user waypoints and saved routes in battery-backed volatile RAM rather than flash memory. When the battery drops to zero — or is physically removed — that RAM loses power and the stored data is erased. This is a hardware limitation of the device, not a fault with the replacement cell. Before swapping the battery, export any saved routes or POIs through the device's backup menu if that option is available, or note them manually.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Blumax GPS-4013 is taking over 5 minutes to find satellites after I put the new battery in — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. Removing the battery clears the ephemeris data the GPS stores to speed up satellite acquisition. Without that data, the receiver has to perform a cold start, which takes 5–10 minutes with a clear sky view. Once the almanac rebuilds over the next few power cycles, subsequent fix times drop to under a minute. Take it outside, leave it powered on in an open area, and let it complete that first acquisition without interruption.

My GPS-4044 accuracy seems reduced and the map position is jumping around more than before — what's causing that?

Some GPS units reduce receiver sensitivity as the battery voltage drops toward the cutoff threshold — this is the device conserving power, not a fault with the cell itself. If this happens during active navigation, the position fix can become less stable. Charge the battery fully before a navigation session and check that active navigation mode and screen brightness aren't set to maximum simultaneously, as both draw heavily from a 1000mAh cell. If the jumping persists at full charge, verify the cell is seated firmly and the connector is making clean contact.

My GPS-4013 warns "low battery" almost immediately after I start it up, even though I just charged the replacement battery — what's going on?

The charge indicator needs at least one full charge-discharge cycle to calibrate against the new cell's actual voltage curve. On a fresh replacement, the firmware's voltage threshold map is still tuned to the degraded old cell, so it misreads the new cell's state of charge. Run the battery down until the unit shuts off on its own, then charge it fully to 4.2V without interruption. After that single cycle, the low-battery warning should fire at the correct point rather than at startup.
