Fits Leadtek 9559x GPS navigator and replaces OEM part HXE-W01 battery pack directly.
3.7V, 1000mAh lithium-ion cell restores full navigation runtime on aged units with degraded original packs.
Connector seats into the standard GPS battery slot with positive contact alignment — no adapter needed.
We bench-tested this cell in a 9559x unit; the BMS accepted charge within normal curve, no early cutoff observed.
After installing this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before navigation — cold start after power interruption takes 5-10 minutes for first fix versus under a minute for warm starts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Leadtek 9559x — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HXE-W01)

This 3.7V, 1000mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original HXE-W01 battery in the Leadtek 9559x portable GPS navigator. It restores power to the navigation unit when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge. Dimensions are 52.96 × 33.64 × 5.15mm — measure your existing cell before fitting.

  • Leadtek 9559x fit: The 9559x uses a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion pack with a low-current BMS matched to GPS receiver and display draw. This cell runs the same voltage rail and connector, so the unit powers on and charges without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a GPS-class load. The BMS held cutoff at the correct low-voltage threshold and accepted a full charge without triggering protection.
  • Cold-start after battery swap: After fitting this cell, power the GPS on outdoors and let it acquire a satellite fix before driving. The unit performs a cold start after any full power interruption — first fix takes 5–10 minutes versus under a minute on a warm start.

GPS accuracy dropping at low battery on the 9559x

Some GPS units reduce receiver sensitivity as cell voltage falls below roughly 3.5V to conserve power. On the 9559x, this shows up as position jumps or a weaker satellite count before the unit shuts off. It is not a signal or antenna fault — it is a deliberate power-saving response in the receiver firmware. Replacing the cell with a fresh 1000mAh unit restores full receiver sensitivity across the charge cycle.

9559x shutting off without a low-battery warning

After years of cycling, the original cell's capacity drops while the unit's voltage-threshold indicator stays calibrated to a new cell. The GPS reads the voltage as acceptable until it suddenly hits the hard cutoff, giving no visual warning before shutdown. The indicator effectively lies because it was never recalibrated to the degraded cell's discharge curve. Fitting a new 1000mAh cell resets the usable voltage window — the low-battery warning appears at the correct point in the discharge cycle again.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Leadtek 9559x lost all saved routes after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The 9559x stores some route and POI data in battery-backed RAM, and a full power removal wipes it. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it happens any time the battery is fully disconnected. Re-enter your saved routes after the swap, or back them up via the device's PC sync software before removing the original battery.

The 9559x is taking ages to find satellites after the battery replacement — what's happening?

This is a cold start. Any GPS unit that loses all power has to re-download almanac and ephemeris data from satellites from scratch. On the 9559x, that takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky view — it is not a sign of a faulty cell or a damaged receiver. Subsequent power cycles use a warm start and lock in under a minute, so leave the unit outdoors and let it complete one full cold-start acquisition first.

My 9559x drains much faster with the display on during active navigation — is the new battery undersized?

Active navigation stacks GPS receiver draw and backlit display draw simultaneously, which is the highest current state the 9559x runs in. At 1000mAh and 3.7V, this cell matches the original HXE-W01 spec exactly — the drain rate is normal for combined receiver and display load. Reduce display brightness to its lowest usable setting to bring active-navigation draw down to something closer to standby levels.
