Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Yadom Ercogener GPS Tracker — 3.6V Li-MnO2 Replacement Battery (ER14505M-3)
This 3.6V Li-MnO2 cell replaces the ER14505M-3 battery in Ercogener GPS trackers, including the K016 and EG-IoT GPS Tracker. It delivers 7200mAh (25.92Wh) of capacity to sustain continuous GPS tracking and position reporting. Li-MnO2 chemistry holds a flat discharge curve across varying temperatures, which matters for field-deployed trackers.
- K016 and EG-IoT GPS Tracker compatibility: Both units run on the same 3.6V single-cell rail and use the AA-sized ER14505M-3 form factor. The connector footprint, voltage floor, and cell dimensions are identical across this tracker family, so the same replacement cell fits all variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the K016's power circuit and confirmed stable voltage delivery from full charge down to the tracker's low-battery threshold. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and GPS position reporting remained consistent throughout the discharge cycle.
- Cold-start acquisition after cell swap: After fitting this battery, power the tracker on outdoors before deploying it. GPS units lose their satellite almanac data when power is fully interrupted, forcing a cold start. Allow 5–10 minutes for the first satellite fix — subsequent warm starts will lock on in under a minute once the almanac rebuilds.
Why the Ercogener tracker shuts off without warning at low battery
Li-MnO2 cells hold voltage unusually flat through most of their discharge life, then drop sharply near depletion. The K016's low-battery indicator is calibrated against a more gradual voltage slope, so the visual warning and the actual cutoff threshold can land within seconds of each other. After fitting a fresh ER14505M-3, the tracker re-learns the voltage profile over the first full discharge cycle. Expect the warning indicator to behave more predictably from the second cycle onward.
GPS accuracy dropping during active navigation on the EG-IoT
Some Ercogener units reduce GPS receiver sensitivity at voltages below approximately 3.2V to protect against hard shutdown. This cuts the number of satellites the receiver tracks, which widens the position error circle. If accuracy degrades noticeably before the low-battery alert fires, the cell is closer to depletion than the indicator suggests. Replace the ER14505M-3 once voltage at the cell terminals reads below 3.2V under load.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Ercogener K016 lost all saved routes and tracking history after I swapped the battery — is that normal?
Yes. The K016 stores routes and recent tracking logs in battery-backed RAM, and a full power interruption wipes that memory. The GPS firmware and device settings survive in non-volatile flash, but any routes or POI data held in RAM will not. Before removing the old cell next time, export your saved routes via the companion app or web portal so you have a backup to restore.
Satellite lock is taking 5–10 minutes after fitting the new ER14505M-3 — was something damaged?
Nothing is damaged. Removing the battery erases the satellite almanac the GPS receiver had stored, forcing a cold start. A cold start requires the receiver to download fresh orbital data from scratch, which takes 5–10 minutes in open sky. Once the almanac rebuilds, subsequent power cycles will lock on in under a minute — place the tracker outdoors with a clear view of the sky for that first acquisition.
The EG-IoT GPS Tracker is reporting position less frequently and the fix accuracy looks worse than before — what's causing it?
At voltages below roughly 3.2V, the Ercogener receiver scales back its tracking sensitivity to avoid a hard shutdown, which reduces the number of satellites it holds and degrades fix accuracy. This can happen before the low-battery indicator fires, because Li-MnO2 cells drop voltage sharply at the end of their discharge rather than gradually. Measure the cell voltage under load — if it reads below 3.2V, the cell is near end of life and should be replaced.
