Landxcape LX790i Series — 20V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LA0001)

This is a 20V 2500mAh (50Wh) Li-ion battery for the Landxcape LX790i cordless lawn mower and its siblings — LX790, LX792, and LX795 among others. It slots into the same battery bay and connects via the same locking tab and contacts as the original LA0001 pack. Voltage and capacity are matched to the cutting deck motor's draw requirements.

• LX790 series compatibility: The LX790, LX790i, LX792, and LX795 share the same 20V battery platform, connector format, and BMS handshake protocol. Swapping between these models does not require any adapter or firmware change.
• Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge and discharge cycles on a 20V mower platform and monitored the BMS response under simulated blade-motor inrush. The protection circuit tripped correctly at overcurrent thresholds and recovered without fault codes.
• Seasonal storage tip: If the mower has sat unused for more than two months, bring the battery indoors overnight before charging. Cells that have self-discharged below 10% can cause the charger to show a fault light — a 30-minute indoor warm-up at room temperature usually resolves this before you connect the charger.

BMS cutoff on thick-grass and wet-grass blade load

The blade motor on the LX790 series draws a short inrush spike every time it hits dense or wet grass. If the battery's state of charge is already below 30%, that spike can push instantaneous current past the BMS cutoff threshold. The mower stops abruptly — not a mechanical fault, just the protection circuit doing its job. Recharge the pack to above 50% before tackling thick patches, and the BMS will stay well within its operating window.

Li-ion cells left in storage self-discharge slowly over months. If the pack drops below roughly 2.5V per cell, most standard chargers refuse to begin a charge cycle and show a red or flashing fault LED. The cells are not dead — they just need a recovery boost. Leave the battery at room temperature (above 15°C) for several hours, then reconnect to the charger. If the fault clears within the first five minutes of connection, the pack is recovering normally and will reach full charge from there.
