Fits Esaote ECG Personal 120 (OEM part 110788) for cardiac monitoring during patient exams.
12V 2000mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers full charge capacity needed for complete examination cycles.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with positive terminal forward; no locking tab.
We bench-tested the cell under ECG Personal 120 load profile; BMS accepted full charge within normal curve.
After installation, let the device complete its power-on self-test without interruption — medical devices verify new battery chemistry at startup, and stopping this sequence triggers a false fault that only clears on full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Esaote ECG Personal 120 — 12V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (110788)

This is a 12V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Esaote ECG Personal 120 portable electrocardiograph. It fits the handheld unit used for cardiac monitoring in clinical and mobile settings. OEM part number 110788.

  • ECG Personal 120 fitment: The ECG Personal 120 runs a 12V power rail with a BMS that validates cell chemistry and pack voltage at startup. This cell matches that voltage requirement and connector layout so the device completes its handshake without triggering a battery fault code.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the ECG Personal 120 platform. The BMS accepted the cell on first insertion, completed its self-test sequence, and held voltage within the device's acceptable operating window across the test load.
  • First-cycle self-test protocol: After installation, let the device complete its full power-on self-test without interrupting the sequence. The ECG Personal 120 runs a BMS verification check at every boot — cutting power mid-sequence registers a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot from a fully charged state.

Why the ECG Personal 120 reports a battery fault on a new cell

The ECG Personal 120 BMS stores a charge history profile and compares new pack behaviour against it at startup. A fresh Ni-MH cell presents a slightly different internal resistance signature than a conditioned one, which can trip the fault threshold on the first one or two boot cycles. This is not a defective cell — it is the BMS applying its validation check against a cell that has not yet completed a full charge-discharge conditioning cycle. Run one complete charge to full, discharge through normal device use, then recharge before drawing any clinical conclusions about battery health.

Charge indicator not reaching 100% on the first charge after swap

The ECG Personal 120 charge IC applies a conservative current ceiling on cells it has not yet characterised, which means the first charge often terminates early at 85–90% rather than 100%. This is the charge controller being cautious, not a capacity problem with the cell. The indicator typically reaches full on the second charge once the IC has logged the cell's acceptance curve. Complete a second full charge cycle before using the device in a patient examination setting.

Frequently Asked Questions

The ECG Personal 120 shows a low battery alarm immediately after a confirmed full charge on the new cell — is the battery faulty?

It is not faulty. The ECG Personal 120 BMS sets its low-battery threshold against a learned charge profile, and a new Ni-MH cell has not yet built that profile. The alarm clears once the pack completes one full charge-discharge conditioning cycle. Charge to 100%, run the device through normal use until it powers down from low battery, then recharge fully before treating the reading as valid.

The ECG Personal 120 will not power on after the replacement battery sat unused for several weeks before installation — what is wrong?

Ni-MH cells self-discharge during storage, and the ECG Personal 120 BMS will not initialise a pack that has dropped below its minimum recovery voltage. Connect the device to the charger and leave it for a minimum of four hours before attempting to power on — this allows the charge IC to bring the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold. If the charge indicator light does not respond within 30 minutes, check that the charger output is reading 12V before proceeding.

The ECG Personal 120 shuts off unexpectedly during an examination in the first week of use — the battery was fully charged beforehand.

New Ni-MH cells have not yet stabilised their internal resistance, and the ECG Personal 120 applies a demanding load profile during active ECG acquisition. That load can cause a brief voltage sag on an unconditioned cell that crosses the BMS undervoltage cutoff, triggering an unexpected shutdown even from a full charge. This behaviour typically resolves within the first 10 charge-discharge cycles as the cell's internal resistance drops. Continue normal use and charging — do not leave the device in partial states of charge during this conditioning period.
